Thanks for sharing smoke, nice to see Iron Mike at peace with his hobby and with the down to earth real people of this world. After all Mike went through hell with those bad out of the rink experiences. have not read much about him lately ,just the videos on u tube (nice to see him with the birds) I hope he is enjoying his life now as it returns to some kind of nomallity. Do you know if He is still envloved with boxing smoke(coaching ,training , promoteing)please let me know.I have a son training in canada to go to the nationals 17 years old 6'5" 260 pounds super heavey weight.
My heart goes out to mike and sometimes when i watch his videios with his birds i feel glad that he has some joy in his life.
He was such a great competitor the best .

re: Iron Mike
There's a guy I met from New York (retired boxer after 15 years of heavy work) about 6 months ago at the local barber shop. Says he used to spar with Iron Mike in the gym.
...well anyway
He also has rolling pigeons out here in Northern California. As a matter of fact one of his lofts is just 4 or 5 blocks from me. The brotha has 4 homes he owns and is leasing out 2 of them. The other two pieces of real estate are for his family, birds & friends.... at least that what he says. (LOL)
I know brotha man has to be from NY because he's the only person I know that still flies Tipplers with Rollers & Tumblers (THAT's OLD-SCHOOL FOR REAL). He's not into competition or anything... but simply enjoys the aspect of breeding, training & flying performing pigeons. I guess that's it for now.
Good post Smoke
{P.S.} Some tooooooo deeep....

from what I have read, Mike has been out of birds for 2 years or so. He had some serious issues while he lived in Phoenix, and the legal aspect of having the birds made him quit.
