I dont ever see any Club VS Club friendly fly offs anymore .
What happened ???

Also should a club only accept a challenge if thier certain they would win ?

I always thought Boxers, racehorses , Cowboys ( BULLRIDERS), football teams, ETC . Accepted all Challenges regardless if they thought they could win or NOT !

I agree with Keith, George, when I was Pres. of the United Spinners Association are friendly fly would just be amongst us club members, no score just visit each others loft, fellowship, enjoy the birds and BBQ after.

Kieth personally I dont like calling anyone a loser I prefer the word "Participent"

Any one that competes in anything deserves to be called a participent.

And anyone that dont is a non participent .

We fly club flies every month. It helps push us to higher levels.Winter month optional... It Also give us a mind set...kinda like excercising for a football team we need practice and also experience playing other teams . In this case flying agasint other flyers..... keep pushing and youll get to higher levels. . Friendly flies would also do some pushing and inner drive to do something higher with your birds. As a result we had 2 flyers come in 4th and 5th in world cup. for the fall fly Joe came in top 10 on both 20 bird and 11 bird ...another club memeber made top 10 on the 11 bird for fall fly and i made 12th for the dam first time on the 11 bird i made the finals ..lmao .. Does friendly flies and pushing to higher levels and mind set work? Of course it works. A flyer wins when he he decides to fly weather he wins or not and he will learn and move forward in his planing. Wining isnt always a score. Bar B que after a fly everyone eats and everyones Happy... . God Bless

Sid,
Bro, you guys in So Cal can`t throw a rock without hitting another flyer. We have talked about it and it would take a long weekend to fly half part of it.

I think it would be great to have a friendly fly. I'm all in and I'm sure SGVS would love to have some friendly competition and some bbq at Dale's house...lol (dale's treat)

What do you guys say, Hector, Spanky, Dale, Luis?
Win or Lose, I'm sure we'll have a good time...

You got it right its not about winning its about getting together with people that enjoy the same hobby and watching some birds fly and making new friends .

If you think about it we are all winners when you stop and think about all the good friends that we would have never met if we didnt breed and fly rollers.

Getting together with other guys in this hobby is one of the things that make it so great. Without that, I might get bored and not put as much time into the birds that I do. I have never seen a unfriendly fly. I have seen a few pissed off about the outcome, but at the end of the day we are all doing what we enjoy. Flying rollers. 2008 will be no different here in region 9A. And for the most part, we are dealing with men here that can understand that we are just flying pigeons. If I where a betting man, I bet IM the first one to get his ass kicked this year since I went and stocked all the good ones I bred for myself.......lol. But at least I will participate like I hope most will here in the W/C, 2008.

PS. ALL 9A REGION MEMBERS. E-MAIL me guys so I can get you on our new yahoo groups list so I can keep you posted on what's going on as well as you having the opportunity to vote for judges and express your opinions here on how things are run.
