Seymour had a Tornado Warning so we high-tailed it to our tornado shelter. I ate dry cheerios and Joni listened to the news on the radio. Supposed to have more severe weather tonight. Gonna be a looong night!

Springfield got hit really good tonight, hope the local roller fellas are all ok...

Hey Val, we get your left overs and then we send it north to Illinois.

Jerry, this was the first time I felt like I should get in my shelter. I half expect to maybe once more before the night is done.

The emergency weather radio keeps going off, gonna be hard to get much sleep...take care all.

Thanks Mike! We just had to go into our shelter again for about 30 minutes as winds of 80-100mph buffeted our area. Little sleep as the weather alarm keeps going off.

We barely made it into out shelter, the winds were bad as we left the house for the shelter. I was thinking for a moment to stay in the house, but grabbed Joni and said "let's go", we proceeded to get soaked and wind-blown as we went the 20 feet to our "safety".

There were a few moments where that wind sounded really bad from inside. I did not know what we would see when we came out. Everything intact, thankfully, even the neighbors mobile home was still there!

When the winds calmed, I went to check the loft. Everything was fine, a vinyl covering I put up to cover the aviary was coming undone from the heavy duty clips holding it onto the loft so I reattached them. Held up much better than I thought it would.

==

Rudy, great question, lol, Joni asked me where's the pair of rollers I was going to grab in these situations? I said "about 60 feet away, holding onto their nest bowl with eggs in it."

I will have to prepare better next time...Don't know what else is coming but for steady rain for a few hours.

Thanks for the concern people! ;-)

Welcome to :"tornado alley"! Usually only have to worry about this stuff in the spring, summer, and fall! Crazy!

My wife already knows, I'll be grabbing some birds on the way out to the cellar! We had one come close last summer and I had the carrying cage setting by the back door ready to go!

re: Tornado Alley

This is why I will not leave the Sunny Golden State of California to move into the midwest. The East Coast & Northern border states with Canada gets too cold... and the South and South East states gets Hurricanes & VIOLENT STORMS (tropical storm systems).

NOTE: As the global climate continues to change expect more very disturbing Meteorological weather systems on every continent.

Finally got my computer running again. The bad weather started around five oclock in the afternoon. I live in Barry County located in Southwest Missouri. One tornado hit down less than ten miles from my residece. It was definely a scarry night and morning but i got some sleep. The wind got so strong i thought the glass was going to break my windows. I checked out the property the next morning and everything was fine. The rain came down heavy for at least ten hours and many warnings of tornatic activity was broadcasted. Ice came down down in different sizes and shapes for a period of time. I saw the bad weather heading toward the East where Tony lives. Then Ken Billings phoned me and told me Tony and wife were safe and sound in their tornado cement bunker. I spoke to Robert Rusher last night and everything was safe and sound. I havent heard from him today but hope to shortly. Plan on getting in touch with Bill Roy and others soon. Joe Higgingbotham said it was windy and rainny at his residence. My best to everyone that spent many hours during the storm and best of health. God Bless! Ray Sanchez
