My question is as follows. If you have roller's that are over a year old and have never been introduced to a kit box nor ever flown, do they still have the ability to kit and roll if trained. Thanks in advance R.Fuentes

Lets just say that your odds go way down. I would say that it would cause more frustration to try than to just raise some young birds and start early.

Just to let you know ive aquired some birds that havent been flownout they are one to two years old. I have noticed that it takes time but you can teach them to kit,but must have time to invest....also if you try one bird at a time you will have a better chance.

Raul, How you doing? I had a missed call from you the other day. If they have never been flown I would say your chances are low to get them lofted in unless you pull flight feathers or something as this past weekend I flew away some birds I got from a fleller that said to fly them, see other post. Anyway, hope all is well with you. Richard

R.FUENTES....Yes. First of all do you know the background of these birds? How did the parents look in the sky? If you know nothing about them. Rather then waste time on them I would breed them out and concentrate on their youngsters. But,if you do have the time and patience, take the time and learn to fly what you already have. Its kinda all up to YOU. What ever you decide to do, Good Luck.... and have FUN. ---------- Fly High and Roll On Paul

I received a couple of birds that were 8 months old to 1 year old that were never flown before. I fly this 3 birds and 2 of them started to kit in around 1 months and the other bird didn't kit, he was on his own world. I will try to fly him again this year but I don't think he will kit.
The other two I lost for a BOP and the one that didn't kit I still have. I started to fly them around July and I lock my birds around the end of September.

yes, but sometimes they may not develope in the spin the way they would have if flown on time.... but it just depends on the bird.. ---------- rOLLerManx0

Good luck trying to get it to kit... If the bird is from good stock, then getting it to roll should not be a problem.
Good luck is all I can say, Thor
P.S. The older it is, the worst off you are. Any thing over 3 years have proved to be a waste of time for me in the past. Of course we are talking birds that never ever saw the sky.
