if you fly your birds alot (when it's bop free)they will come in to the roll faster and become trained to your whistle or the shake of the feed can.hard work and schedualed flying is what make those birds take flight at the sight of the doors opening up.ijust put my birds on lock down!!! what a flying season i just had all of 07 .i flew alot of rollers i bread they rolled real decent.will
some one please tell me did i just luck up at the local pet
shop and get good birds or is it the training and hard flying(bop free).i only lost two birds last year to BOP..

Hi BigBull... I have a question concerning your statement below.

>>>>i flew alot of rollers i bread they rolled real decent. will some one please tell me did i just luck up at the local pet shop and get good birds or is it the training and hard flying (bop free).<<<<

QUESTION: What's the name of the local pet shop you acquired birds from?

Just curious that's all.

Holla....

Bigbull, the hardest thing in the world to manage is yourself. Having the self dicipline to shake the feed can EVERY time, or whistle EVERY time, or write down band #s EVERY time, fill out a flight log book EVERY time Etc.Etc. Etc. These types of things are 50% of making a good kit of birds. Having birds with the right stuff is the other half of the equasion. Bigbull, it sounds like you got it right on both parts. Good Job !!!
Question; have you tried checking the band #s to find out who bred your birds. If you can find that out it may help in setting up breeders in the future. Most clubs that sell bands have a band secretary who keeps records of who bought which band #s. Just a thought.....

JERRIES,LOFT

MY FREINDS WOULD DO THE SAME,WE WOULD SEE GUYS TAKE THERE SQUEAKERS AND STRAY BIRDS TO JOHNS FEED TO SALE FOR GRAIN TO FEED THEY BIRDS. WHEN YOU LOSE A BIRD THAT YOU SPENT ALOT OF CASH ON AND SOME ONE ELSE STRAY IT IN... THEY DON'T KNOW AND DON'T CARE WHERE IT CAME FROM MOST OF THE TIME
HERE IN SOUTH CENTRAL ALL THEY KNOW IS THE BIRD TRAPED THREW
YOUR TRAPPING DOORS HUNGRY. AND BEAT THE HELL OUT OF YOUR KIT SPINING LIKE A TOP WHEN IT CAME FROM OUT OF KNOWHERE.

GOOD BIRDS GO TO THE PET SHOP.LIKE WHEN SOMEONE CAGE GOT HIT!!!! LIKE MY BIRDS WAS AT A LOCAL PET SHOP BACK IN THE DAY IN 1986.BACK THEN WE PUT TIN ON ARE LOFTS SO THE TWO LEG
PREDATORS WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING TO YOUR/OUR ROLLERS.TIN MAKE ALOT OF NOISE WHEN YOU TRY TO TAKE IT OFF/BREAKING AND ENTERING A LOFT THAT IS COVERED IN TIN.THATS HOW GREAT BIRDS END UP A THE LOCAL PET SHOPS.

NEED I SAY MORE..
