-What lines are the HATCHER birds? seen some fly yesterday @ a friends house and they roll deep, HEAVY muffs, had a real good one about 20 ft then at the end of the fly guess which one the coop had for lunch! The guy got them from the west 3 years ago,he said they were hatchers birds and asked me what lines he used, told him I know where to find out, he is just a backyard flyer but I think he has some really good birds, --------- Pat

Pat - I would call Tom because it is really hard to say. Tom has Plona stock and the continental strain last I heard but this is hearsay. The continentals are crossed between Plona and the Fred Taylor birds by way of Charles McVay according to Tom in his writings of the Last of the Greats.
Also, those lavenders are ready to go so give me an e-mail reply.

Dr.LD, It's Charles McFae,lol.Roger McVay,Breeds and flys Continentals.one thing that has frustrated me with the continentals is continuity is very hard to breed for.If you breed them to close, they can get alittle big and vice versa. In that sense I don't consider it a beginner line.It takes a while to get the right type that will produce the same.It is definetly there in the line,a very individual type of line.....Aloha,Todd

todd! where did you get your line of continentals from? i dont always get the large birds out of the dick stepens continental line, and you have to understand that these birds are plona based. plona liked the larger bird so from time to time they well throw back to that. that does'nt mean they are bad birds.
