That bird could be carrying a sickness from another loft. It should be removed immediately and its best if you can find the owner so the bird can be returned. You can always play russian roulette with all your healthy birds and keep it with the others hoping it is a healthy bird....lol

I'd make an attempt to return it to the owner, if it was that much better than my birds, I see if I could get some of the kin or borrow that bird as a breeder. I'm new to this but that's what I think!

I never had a stray out perform any of my fliers. All tho I have had strays that kit tighter than my teams themselves :)

Thor

P.S. I don't let any thing land on the roof with my birds. If by chance it snook in without me seeing, I'll trap it in and turn it into the animal rehab center asap. If by chance the bird is a super star in the air and is un banded... it is more likelier than not that it was stolen from a top flier in the area and the band was cut off. That happens a lot in my neck of the woods.

Gotta watch them RED CHECKERS they are nice ones! Try to find the owner while you have it seperated from your birds, if you can not find the owner then breed off of it until you decide what to do!But make every effort to find the rightful owner!

He said the bird doesn't have a band. What he suppose to do go to everybody house with birds and ask is it there bird. LOL!!!! I got loft bands and don't nobody call and return birds. I haven't got a call in over two years. I can't even count how many birds the bop chase off. People stray birds in and keep them. The calls that I did get is from people who don't raise birds.

Bigbull,
HAVE YOU BEEN STRAYING IN MY BIRDS.!!??.. LOL..!! But seriously, I've lost lots of birds... Rarely does anyone get in contact with me...
A long time ago I even strayed in one that was bred by Pensom.... I didn't know it until years later when Cornell told me that its' number was Pensoms' series.

Bigbull this may sound weird but if the bird out beats your birds is it quality ,frequecy, and or style Then why would you not want to continue to fly it,if it is better. This is me,((AND NO DIRESPECT)) I would not want have stock that was lesser. Put the bird in quarintine medicate it.No band, the band does not make the bird, the PERFORMANCE DOES!!!!!. I doubt that you'll find the owner.I know you got advice to kill, get rid of BUT ON THE REAL if it is a SUPERSTAR,,,,fly it out. If you knew Doug Brown,GREAT GUY(R.I.P.) he had strayed a hen also that came into his kit that ripped the sky and trapped it when she landed. He called it the stray hen, he flew it and stocked it.He would tell people that this perticular hen would breed out superstars in the air in quantity. He would of told you paper or band does not make the bird, but its performance does.Doug would fly awesome kits .Your call.

I don't keep any strays. I'll try to find the owner or when i had my shop I would sale it after about a week. Now I give them to my backyard raising friends. If the bird has a loft or club on it, I contact the person or club member as soon as the bird is in my hand.

I would keep the bird. Seeing how it has no band, I put every new bird that comes in to my loft in quarintine
no mater who or were the bird came from.. I did it one time big mistake. Will not happen again

NPA and IPB bands are next to impossible to trace. NBRC bands are hard to trace also but can be done.
