A club fly was held the second Saturday in April 2007. Joe Woodiel, Bill Roy, Tony Chavarria, Joe Higgingbotham, Robert Rusher and Ray Sanchez attended. Tony was the first flyer to release his kit at eight thirty. The judges were Robert Rusher, Ray Sanchez, Bill Roy and Joe Woodiel. It didnt take the kit long to attain a decent heigh and five quarter turns were scored. Kitting, style, velosity were good and depth was in the medium range. The deepest bird in the kit wing switched therefore wasnt counted in the turns. I think Tony said it was wasnt his Ruby strain of rollers. Mrs. Chavarria served refreshments and pastries and everyone enjoyed the hospitality. The next flyer to release his kit was Bill Roy. His kit rose higher than Tonys kit but was at a decent heigh to judge. Seven quarter turns were scored in the medium depth. There were more turns but they werent scoreable. Style, velosity and kitting was good. The judges were Ray Sanchez, Robert Rusher, and Tony Chavarria. The weather was very pleasant at both fliers farmett. The turnout and amount of flyers present was below par but everyone present enjoyed the fly. Bill Roy served refreshments during the fly. It was a pleasure seeing Tonys and Bills stock birds. Thank you guys for flying your rollers with the Soutwest Missouri Roller Association. Publicity Director, Ray Sanchez

Ralph I read your user profile. Jim Delise was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved with his family to Modesto, California in 1941 during the second World War. He told me all the stories about pigeons in New York. A carpenter by trade helped him build beautifull pigeon houses. Jim bred and flew many breeds of pigeons. He inspired me to become a pigeon fancier for life. I hope the rollers you purchased help you breed good stock for flying competition. I was sixteen when you were born and had three pigeon lofts. Those were the good old days, Ralph. Bill Pensom was a great man in many ways amd I miss visiting with him and all the other great pigeon fanciers. I plan on posting my stock of rollers in the near future. Take care and keep in touch. Master Breeder, Ray Sanchez
