I picked up on your recent typing and it was interesting information. Back in the early fourtees Papa Todi was a neighbor of mine. He owned a butcher store and raised all kind of animals on his property. His entire yard was fenced and the garage was full of pigeons. I would visit him almost everyday and also check out other pigeon lofts near by. Racing homer, sqaub farms, show birds, and roller lofts excetera were located in the city limits. The population was low therefore the country wasnt to far out. There was another Etalion friend that lived right out of the city limits that raised pigeons and all kind off pheasants. Elmer Smith lived out in the country and bred racing homers, rollers, show birds, utility birds, parlors and other farm animals. I was a member of the short face club in New York for many years and many members lived in California. I won Short Face Crested Helmet in New York when the Grand National Show was held in that part of the country. It was a pleasure meeting many of the pigeon fanciers from back East. The Madison Square Garden was a great place to see quality pigeons and the almonds rollers were fantastic. The ole box and string trick to catch stray pigeons was fun indeed. I have a lifetime of stories written that havent been published, Ralph. Hopefully this will be accomplished someday. In the sport, Ray Sanchez
