In no way are pigeons considered like chickens. If they were 90% of us would not be able to keep them within the city limits. In most towns and citys consider pigeons as pets thank god.

I remember back in the nineteen fourtees when the price of grain was less than ten cents per pound. My grandfather Antonio Ruiz wauld take me to the feed store to buy chicken scatch, rabbit pellets, pigeon feed, duck mash and other grains. It helped me to learn about different kind of grains at an early age. Then my uncle Ernie Ruiz had a small farm full of all kind of animals. His son Ernie Jr. raised pigeons including rollers and fed all the animals everyday. I visited often and helped him feed all the animals. This helped me to learn about all kind of grains that were fed. We flew racing homers and rollers every opportunity we had. Those were definely the good ole days. The cost of grains is getting much to high and it started thirty years ago. Ray Sanchez.

Yeah,30 years ago in the early 1970s when we had the fuel crisis and the big COs made us beleive we were running out of fuels as an excuse to jack up the prices of crude which in turn fuels inflation. Now the demand for more bio fuel in the fear and probably truth we need to change our source of fuel is also causing more farmers to grow corn to make bio fuel, that'll also make the price of other grains go up.Gonna have to get me a farm to grow all the grains to feed these birds!!!LOL ---------- Kel.
