I have looked at the box made from a dog crate and I've searched the posts and didn't find much concerning this subject. Can anyone point me to a site or provide plans for a small portable box, not a kit box on a trailer.

That is on Jon Lahman's site, Jon's Roller Page www.angelfire.com/ks/rollerpigeon
He gives quite a bit of info on training, I'd just like to see some other boxes.

I FLEW A 11 BIRD TEAM OUT OF A PORTABLE LOFT FOR 2 YEARS IN IOWA. I BUILT A SMALL VERSION OF THE KIT BOXES WE USE IN THE BACKYARD. TRAP ON TOP WITH A BRIGHT PAINT JOB. START TRAINING THE BIRDS VERY YOUNG 17-21 DAYS OLD...I FLEW AS FAR AS 150 MILES FROM HOME.. PARKS ARE GREAT FOR THIS TYPE OF KIT. ALL FAMILIES OF BIRDS ARE NOT GOING TO DO GOOD WITH THIS TYPE OF TRAINING. FOR THE MOST PART KEEP THEM HUNGRY AND START YOUNG...

Snake Doctor; Sounds like you are thinking about a "wafer kit". That is a box that can easily be handled by one man. Birds can be trained to almost any type of container. It should not be over 3 foot square. A 2x3 foot crate will accomodate 10 to 12 birds. Ventilation is the first priority. You can trap them in through the top or side....Style etc. are only limited by your imagination. Patience is an absolute must...good luck...Al

Thanks for the leads guys. I work with kids and senior adults, it's hard for me to get them to the back where my birds are kept. With a portable I could take the birds to them. Gonna give it a try at some point. Any info or tips will certainly be welcomed.
