I would like to know what your feeling is about participants that erect platforms next to their lofts for judges to stand on. These are sometimes up to 4 meters. I just feel that this should not be legal during competitions as it will stop the birds from sitting giving the benefit to the participant.

Jim I dont agree with any platforms being erected at the side of any loft because that to me can and will interfere with a kit of birds flying in a comp. But i do agree that in some flyers backyards viewing the birds is a problem and the judge does need the best advantage viewing point that he can be at. But they should bring a rule that no one can say like be no less than 10 meters near any loft when participating in any given competition. But saying that some back yards in the UK are smaller than 10 meters Lol. But on a serious note no one should be near the loft when time is called on the clock. ---------- Regards W@yne UK

interesting thought. I have wondered the same thing. I have a very large walk in fly pen, and have concidered putting a deck on top of it for viewing the birds better. The wife wants it for a place to lay out and tan.. I didnt think it would be legel to judge from but it would be cool for me cause I have a lot of trees also to see over. ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

If I put a strange person on or near my loft I wouldnt ever get DQ'd for early landing. I think that is an attempt to sway the comp in someones favor and shouldnt be allowed. But then again I fly mobile so I would pick a spot the judge would never lose sight of my birds and that I guess is swaying it in my favor.

in the all england, all judges have to stand on Terra firma, this was brought in, to stop people interfering with the kit landing early, this is what i am led to believe

I think I will still work on mine just for my own use when not competing. The judge and anyone else will stay on the ground during any comp. ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

They can stand anywhere they want as far as im concerned. My birds usually fly the length, and someone standing on, around, or above my loft wont help or hurt my chances.
