Who will be competing in the 2008 World Cup?

Why or why not?

Do you have your team ready to put up some good numbers? or are you trying to get a new kit ready?

I'll go first.

I am planning on competing as I want to support the hobby as much as possible and want to get better at it. I believe that I will only gain more knowledge in every fly I enter or compete and hopefully will improve as my experience grows.

I have a young kit that I held over from last year. Hopefully they will all make it to the big day. BOP are bad during those times. I have a second kit that will hopefully be into the roll just in case I need to move some birds up.

Efren i believe you already got your feet wet last year right?I'm sure you will do better this year if you play it right. You have good birds and a couple of kits so it's a matter of putting them together, keeping them alive and tweaking to perfection.I wish you the best!

Rollers for some point seem to be tastier than any other birds. They don't seem to like street pigeon at all. BOP would chase my rollers as if they haven't ate for month, but as for street pigeon, they just seem to don't care at all if they don't get one of them. And, BOP always get my best one out of my kit for some unknown reason.

Yea im gonna give it a shot agian, this time in the 20 and the 11 bird, i tryed for the first time ever in comp with the W.C fly and the fall fly. really lookin foward to it agian, this time there will be more flyers, and that will give me a shot at picking the fly time, as this has caused me problems in the past flys. the wind gets hevy here mid day to late afternoon, however i fly my birds in it so that they become conditioned to it, just incase i have a repeat of last years fly season. im gonna fly nomatter what, although i might have the judge go three blocks to the east instead of two.. LOL. sure would be cool to have the judge in my back yard for a change....

Count me in this year as I am working on a kick asse team. All old birds, most are breeding quality worthy. Well, that is the plan.

Square, do you have local flies? In my area, we fly about 7 local flies a year. All but two are in conjunction with the World and National Fly. For it to be considered a local competition fly in my area, all you need are three or more fliers. I can't imagine any local flying club not being able to find at least three fliers in their area. I'm sure the fliers living in warmer climates can have a fly every month of the year - my area can only wish for such conditions.

Thor

P.S. How much would it suck if we only had two flies a year? That is way too long of a wait for myself. Isn't this a flying breed...

So it's official? Skyline (Ray) will not be able to be the RD?

You've done it in the past and it seems everything went great. Hope you decide to take on this task.

yea Thor the hope is to fly as much as we can, we got it to where we meet the last sat of every month. however last year we did as well as we could, it was a really heavy fire season for me as i spent 37 days on the Zaca fire in santa barbra ca. we keep in touch and this year will definantly be diffrent. Our president is working his kits and we have a number of quality flyers. keep in mind we just started this club middle of last year, still alot to work out one thing that is for cirtain is that we will be rolling some bird's in the bakersfield area!!. our president is super proactive in the roller community and it will be a quality time, in our kneck of the woods.

Ill make my donation to the WC again this spring. Forme it is about the only time I get to have anybody over to see the birds work. Yea Thor I only get 2 comps a year. The nearest roller flier is 100+ miles and the next is 225 miles. kinda roller lonely ... would love to compete 3,4, 6, 10 times a year.

Have most of team still together from fall fly, they been shut down for winter, hope they all come back into good form again.

Steve,

I would think you would definitely fly in the WC. I only hear good things about your birds and you flying skills.

Hopefully I will have the opportunity to see you team in action.

So that's it? No one else flying in the W/C? Let us know why you’re not going to fly? Is it because it's still pretty bad with the bop's?

I wonder why the WC directors don't change the flying time a couple of months later to avoid the bops?
