I was wondering as I started to pair up my birds. What types of other pigeons are GOOD to use as FOSTERS? Do you have any favorties? Which ones do you use. Just something to think about......Thanks

I used to use homers, they kept the squeaks fed really well but you want to leave them alone that first week! Sometimes when the parents got excited they would accidently step on the babies and they are just to heavy! Once you got them past that stage, they grew fast because the homers kept them fed so well!
If I had room, I would still have some! ---------- Val

Homers are awesome foster parents. I even put 2 weeks baby in their nest and they still take care of them. As for my rollers, they know which babies are their when they are 2 weeks already. My homers seem to care a lot for baby pigeons.

I used to keep a pair of homers in my loft to feed my rollers... In warm weather I would clip the homers wings so they couldn't get away from the pinfeather rollers... I swear them homers could feed 10 rollers........... Mike

There is no better foster parent than Homers, most of the time better than real parents.

Right on roller0. My homers raise 4 rollers per pair with ease! Definately unmatched as fosters.

Once again, I knew I could count on all my roller buds to give me their honest opinion. So,I guess it's MY homers that I will use. Thanks everyone...... ---------- Fly High and Roll On Paul
