Hey, In your OPINION what is your rarest colored Birmingham roller? I would love to see these pics and the varieties among them.

Thanks,

Andrew

What comes to mine to me is the name of Roger Baker out of Arkansas. He raised some of the most beautiful blue laced birds that was some how tied in with his solid back colored birds.

If you had a blue lace cock you were good to go and if you had a black that was caring his Blue Lace you were also good to go.

He also had some opals and other variations.

Hey SpinCityRoller, those birds are looking awesome. I've always wanted a roller with those kind of markings. When I was a kid, I didn't think that it was possible for a roller to have that kind if markings. I like IT. It's nice to try something new something, but them birds just have to SPIN. That's what really matter. Got to said, those are some pretty looking birds you got there.

ask Randy Gibson he owns Every records in Cprc Won them all with these mongrels they are just as equal!!am trying to get more( not John Jones Dont like slow rollers sorry!!!)
What am I saying I must be Crazy all my bird go back to John Jones All of randy stuff 1470 go back to John Jones
I need to stop smoking this shit !!!!!!
Am Sorry John
hope you understand

These birds originate from James Turner sent to Doug Brown and Randy Gibson. about 18 yrs ago they are still around but very rare to get. they pop up every so often.

Randy taught me lesson with these birds I was talking to him about what Kenny billing Was saying About Color rollers And he told me he would show me that they can roll he took me to some guys house (in the underground the dude had all kind of colors I have never seen in my life I laugh at the guy and joked about the bird when he let out the kit the joke was on me they scored like 300 raw right there)I will never judge a book by its cover again
spin comes in all shapes color and sizes
Believe it or not true story

Rarest colored BIRMINGHAM Roller or just a roller?

I would say the rarest BIRMINGHAM Roller could be an almond or a tort (grizzle). Now, "just a roller" is another matter and I could not even begin to single out the rarest.

Don't recommend you go chasing performance using color. I never consider color when I am looking at any performance breed.

Wow! Thanks for taking the pictures! It is hard to believe that they threw that opal bar. Are opal bars very hard to come by? The hen, by the way, (if this makes any sense) has the perfect shape of a BH roller in my opinion and has a very nice head on her. You should consider showing her sometime..lol..or are you just a flyer? :)

I show my birds in the fall show here. We have a performing class which I won this year. Came in third overall.

Last season I bred a couple of rounds off her and got a couple of almost almond looking birds. The bar is a fluke I guess. I got several surprises last season. Thats why I don`t breed for a specific pattern or color. I like the grab bag.

I like the Opal Bar. I am new to the group and this is my first post but I have been reading the post off and on for a couple of months. I got some Birds from Bud Palmer at our local pigeon show back in November and there was an Opal Bar hen in there that he told me to put in the breeding loft because she was a consistant 20-25 foot spinner. I just banded her first pair of babies this week. From what he told me at least some of the birds I got from him are down from Turner lines. Most of my birds are Red and Blue Bars and Checks with some Baldheads and Recessive Reds in the group.
BOP's have been bad here in Indiana so I have not flown the birds from Bud much I paird a few up to breed from and will try to fly some of the others out more when it is a little safer.

John, welcome to RPDC. I`m in northern Indiana, Plymouth area. Will you be attending the State Club breakfast in March? I`ve never been to see Bud Palmers birds but from what I`ve been told, you got some good stuff there. Welcome again.

I don't have much as far as birds to fly(i got slaughtered last year)but i'm going to try to get something going so i can fly with them.Hopefully i can get a break this year.

I have some birds left over form last year but it looks like the only way i'll get them to roll is.....if i toss them in the toilet and flush!!

I read that somewhere and just had to pass it along..LOL.
