The best advice/encouragement I ever received was from my Grandpa. That was "If you're going to raise'em, you're going to loose'em".
Second best was when I was told from a gentleman that told me he had admiration for how I manage my loft. That is, that I don't focus on the immediate breeding season for success, rather I have a plan. This pair and that pair will produce this and that, and those will be the birds that I will use in 2010.
Accepting loss, when building upon your goal, will ultimately lead to success. Even if your the only one that enjoys it.
Thanks, Colors

Great post! LOL on the mopeds. (Bad Val!)
Pretty cool how so many of you are falling back on lessons learned in childhood.
Yeah, Kel -- I took this picture in Italy in 2007 and I think this guy is hauling a refrigerator! (And I saw another guy with his wife, 2 kids and a dog on a bike the same size.):

Stick with one family of birds. It's much easier. But I have't learned yet. But hope to soon and this indivdual breeding for three familys is to much work!---------- Tapp

The birds MUST kit. Select your stock for speed and style first.
