Hey George if they see your bird spin or if they know your birds are good... You will almost NEVER see them again. You might get a few calls asking about what family of birds they come out of and if you have any for sale... Its sad and frustrating but thats how they play the game in the LA area.

Only birds I've strayed in during my 2 years of having pigeons again is ones I've given away.I've had a roller fly back here from another loft a mile away after 3 months in that loft.Hah,always glad to give 'em back for sure if I can figure out who I'd given 'em to. ---------- Kel. Rum-30 Lofts

I cought a nice red check that belong to Jay from ICRC that was rolling nice and ones it trap in I call him. He was doing a great job in the air so I thought to my self if that was mine and if I lost it I would want it back. I have lost many birds and they all have my phone number in the band and I have only got 2 calls. One of the calls one of my birds was over 50 miles away.

I've caught a many birds when I was a kid. There wasn't phone number on them so I kept them. They can roll. I have 4 fanciers who fly their young birds, and whenever I fly mine, some of the youngs would come to my kit and sleep in there, so I've decided to keep them until they fly back or something. One of my friend bought a roller from a pet shop and after 6 years of raising it, it flew back to the pet shop for no unknown reason. When my friend went back to the pet shop to buy bird seeds for his bird(3 months later), he saw his bird in the pet store's pigeon cage, so he had to purchase it again, because he didn't want to loose it. I guess somebody who work at the pet shop caught the bird and re-sell it. I just can't believe why that bird could fly back to the place where it got dumped and sold. It doesn't even recognize that area, yet it never flew there before. If I caught a bird with a phone number on it, I would like to know that Person more, and would like to return it.

I don't stray in any rollers (no one near) but collect quite a few homers. If they trap the owner gets a call. Problem only one guy bothered to retreive his bird! ---------- Ron Borderline lofts

guys,
I have read the regulations for my city and if you stray in any bird with a band that has a name and number and don't return it's owner you could be charged with the crime of theft. I don't keep any strays no matter how well they perfrom in the air. Once they trap I look for the contact information and call the owner.I'll give the owner a few days to come and get the bird. If they don't pick it up within that time I'll relaese the bird.If they don't have any contact info then I kick them out right away. one kicked out if they hang around on the wire I'll try bring down again only to be relocated.

Wow memories,, ---------- Ralph....
