I have a redrose loft and half of it would be large for rollers in my opinion but I have seen pics of kitboxes almost that size.Yeah,go for it,just lower the ceiling and darken it a little in the front.

You can make adjustments to any loft to properly accomodate rollers.Bigger is ok ,you can always subdivide to the appropriate size and you're there!

Hell, you can fly them out of a large mail box if you want......LOL. With a little modification you can do the racing bird loft.

Coach.....I would say YES. I fly homers and rollers out of the same loft but,you have to make the necessary adjustment to accomidate the rollers. Like different size perches, your trap system, landing board, smaller area for the rollers(like the size of a bitboxs, feeders and flooring to mention afew. This is how the homers look from
the outside: landing board is 6'x3' the front 1/2 hinges down to release birds
Photobucket
From the inside: 7'h X 4'w X 5'd
Photobucket
This is for the rollers on the outside: a small settling cage and very small landing board.
Photobucket
This is the roller kitbox from the inside: 4x4x4

Hope this gives you alittle insight.

Ralph & Louis thanks.........I do everything from the inside of my lost, except release the birds. I remove the settling cage and open the door to release them. I have 4 kitboxes and all have the feed box on the inside.Only thing outside is a bath pan in the settling cage.

I have had rollers for 27 years and I have never heard one complain about its home. LOL. Seriously I think that different guys will have different opinions on this subject. Heine has always said that we keep our rollers in too small of coops here in the US. I personally like them smaller just for the ease of catching the birds if need be. You could spend quite a bit of time trying to get a bird in a loft with 6 ft ceilings especially if it is on the wild side. Joe Urbon

JMUrbon.......I happen to agree with you 100%. When I first got interested in rollers I had a hard time making the transition from homer to roller living areas.. Like you said haveing a 6' high cieling with rollers would be difficult. Keeping in mind that most all homer guys had plenty of room in their pens, size wise. Unlike roller guys, that kept the rollers in smaller type kitboxes. To me that was the most difficult thing to get use to. The down sizing of their living areas. SO now, I have learned to make the adjustments for both to live in the same loft.
