ive had pairs penned up for a week, and wondering how long before they lay their first egg.

thats ok then steve.thought mine were not getting it off with each other because every time i watch them they just stand and look at each other. mabye days still a bit short

I put 8 pairs up and 7 pair all layed on 10th day. I have babies allready and one pair havent laid yet....

Coach......usually 10 days. But it also depends on what the temps have been where you live. If the temps are very cold this causes the sex drive(for both) to SLOW way down and how much lighting you provide can make a big difference too. ---------- Fly High and Roll On Paul

I have One pair that layed eggs after 4 1/2 days. I left for a bird show on a Thursday night at about 8:00 p.m. a few hours away and I came back on Sunday night. Two birds both left their previous mates, that I had taken to the show, and they laid their first egg on Monday morning before 8:00 a.m. So that is about 4 1/2 days!

kopetsa, I bet the hen was already fertile from the mate that you took away! Thats awful fast for a hen to be bred and produce eggs! Just my thoughts! ---------- Val
