Only time you will hear me whistle like that is when a BOP is working my birds. Don't want the neighbors thinking they have a crazy whistling man next door :) Can you imagine walking by and seeing this crazy person whistle his arse off while a flock of pigeons are circling down... man, wouldn't want to be him/her.
Thanks for the video... looks like they were really high with your equipment.
nice vid...the whistleing alrite...i whistle too wen my birds fly n it bothers my neighbor somewhat, especially 7 in the morning on the weekend hehehe n they start yelling n stuff but i dont really care, its not a crime they cant really do much too
Just wondering if you guys notice that some times our birds will do a couple of full revolutions up ward before dropping. Would a good roller touch their wings both on top and on the bottom strokes? I know an 'H' or close to it should have no touching of the wings in either position but how about a ' (O) '?
I wish our weather would change for the better soon so I can start filming some action from my best birds. I'm bent on studying wing placement this year. Footage of them rolling would aid me greatly in this endeavor.
Small strokes with wings straight up and down would equal 'H' style.
Full strokes where you see wings over lapping or touching on the top strokes but flared out on the bottom would be considered 'A' style.
Half strokes where you see both top and bottom strokes being flared out would be considered 'X' style.
Now, a 14 revolutions per second (equals complete blurr) in ' (O) ' would be fun to see on film. I don't have any to this caliber flying. I heard guys telling me that a blurr would do mini mini strokes. Don't know if there are any truths to that?
If you want one i have an extra brand new one ,the red one on this site i have.hit my profile look up my email send me your email with address i get one out to you . ---------- Ralph....

When the weather warms up a bit, I'm gonna try filming the 'A' style rollers I am currently flying vs the very good styled ones. That first roll was about 7-10 foot. You can't tell but that bird came close to hitting me before it pulled out. I rated that back up bird as a average velocity roller with real good style. He is a high 'X' or closer to an 'H'. The velocity sucks on that bird tho. Any who, I counted the revolutions and it was about 10 full revs. A good velocity roller would be in the 12 revolution per second range. A super velocity would be in the 14 range. I was told that a blur would be in the 14 plus revolutions per second.
I have a 'A' style roller that is super fast, fast enough to shrink when it goes. I hope to get some footage of her rolling when I get the new High Definition Camcorder next month or so.
I could not see the wings touching it's strokes. Could just be me here? Not a good angle as I was hiding from the cold winds that day. Would of love to have captured the rolls from the front view instead of the side or from under.
