Looking at the posted pictures of a lot of Rollers,is there a difference with your guys rollers and say rollers from U.K in general a lot of pictures of your guys rollers appear to mostly have the cobby appearance, short neck, well built, and the others with a slightly longer neck, and slimmer appearance,a little more longcast in appearance, just a thought,or is it the photography,or as the late Bill Barrett said about the hole in the roll"Its An Optical Illusion".

I agree i think the guys across the water over many years of selective breeding have bred towards a good looking roller with plenty of spin.
There are sure some good looking birds in the US or could it be that our birds are ugly lol.
I think our birds have the old fashioned roller looks in appearance.
I also think we need a good photographer over here in the UK because there's some good photography going on over in the USA.

Here in western Canada the monty Neible birds most of us have, have less white on them too and most are blue bar, blue checks, reds.Birds with more white on 'em here are often crossed with English strains(eg. Bill Barrett birds).

Or maybe it is because people tend to breed towards what they "think" that they should look like LOL , also there is becoming a craze of performance "show" roller.
Personally I like birds with some cast due to better style of such birds and smoothness of roll, coby tends to be more appealing in the hand though.

Maybe it is just me... but I see a huge difference in type/look wise. The US birds are bred more for a strong/mean looking bird while the UK birds are more on the slick appearance. I think the guys here want a stronger bird or at least look strong on the ground vs the UK which performance of turns is emphasis. I maybe wrong tho. What I do know is guys here care too much about how their birds look on the ground? Color, type, character, etc. Hell, I do at least :)

I think if you find yourself a old Roller book and look at the first imports or F1s (first generations) you will agree that the birds being bred now in the UK still have this same look.
