Do you have any birds that are homed? any young? Young that are hungry and will not fly away? Throw some feed on the floor then you can try to get her. If this doesn't work, since she's been staying there for a while you may want to wait till it gets dark and grab her then.

Wait till dark, shine a flashlight in its eyes for about 10 sec. and then pull the light away and it will be temporily blinded! Then just grab it or net it if you have a fish net!

yeah like Efren said wait until it gets dark and you really can get it, mean while see if you can get square box and put a stick to hold it up and tie a string to it or fishing wire, put some grain in the middle wait until he starts to eat pull the stick with the string attached to it and bamm you got your self a roller..one of my old tricks when i use to go catch commies in the park.. make sure you are far from it..so he don't see you..good luck

Ralph, I cant tell you how many times I`ve had to go out after dark and climb on the roof to catch a young bird that hasnt learned to trap yet. I have a Butterfly net that works sometimes, but I never thought of the old box trap trick. Dang, And I grew up in the country and fashioned myself quite the good`ol boy. I think I just got slow headed by ya. LOL

You can bet I`ll use that trick this year sooner or later, just for fun if nothin else...LOL Thanks!

you could try a trap. tie a small 6 in stick to a string that is far enough for the bird to be able to come down and not get scared of you, then use a foster farms basket or cage, then stand the stick on the ground and lift one side of the basket and put on top of the stick, then put some feed in there. when it comes in then you pull the string and the bird is trapped in there.

i always do this when my new birds or my birds get out of the cage. it always works.

Kopetsa,
If your planning on flying your birds (or not) it might be a good idea to train them to trap into some kind of cage. That way in the future if one gets loose you'll have it trained to trap in. An easy way of doing this is to get 2 wire cages similar to the ones Tony sells. Cut a 4 inch by 5 inch hole in the top of one and bottom of the other that line up together. Stack the cages one on top of the other with a sheet of roll roofing or some kind of material between them. Put the birds in the top cage and feed in the bottom. They learn to drop through the hole to get the feed. Keep the cage in the same spot and when one gets loose you'll always have a easy way to catch it.

Hey guys he is a pretty tame bird, we managed to snag him off of the roof with just our hands; it was also in the Daylight too at about 4:30 p.m.!
