greeting can someone who has had the same problem
with kit birds who only prefer to eat milo, this eating
habit tends to make the bird have less stanima,i have studyed
this closely also done some experiments of my own for instance
i tryed isolateing the indivisual in question and feed it
separely however it would only eat the milo, i have also tryed
different grains by thereself such as wheat, peas, etc only
to notice the bird or birds in question not eating any of those grains.( looking for good sound solution).

STARVE"EM TO DEATH---THEN FEED WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO EAT..
If I was in that situation, I would let them suffer in hunger and feed them grains, wheat when they are really hungry. Trust me they will eat it. I used to do that to my roller back then and it works. Birds gotta eat or they'll die, and I know them birds don;t want to DIE.
If I feed too much milo to my kit, they will loss stamina. They perform a little poor, and seem to put more weight on themselves.

Agree with Washington, cant really understand how you allow this to happen,as at all times the fancier has got to dictate what seeds are fed and when, and as self preservation is paramount to all species, starvation is not an option for it,would suggest you persevere with your feed, and use some electrolytes in their water,to prevent de-hydration. The key word in original post is" prefer" there are many things that I would prefer, sadly life is not like this for me,nor in this instance, should it be for them .

Hi
No need to starve your birds just get them hungry and put then just put peas in for them to eat for couple days. then go to reg mix for couple days more and back to peas for several days. This should do it. It is easier for them to eat the smaller grains. It is just a bad habit they get into from the start. Look at it this way if one half of you kit is eating just milo and the other half eating peas, you have an unbalanced flying kit. You can never get the full action from a kit in this condition. Teach or make them eat the bigger grains and you will find after they are doing this, the peas go first most of the time times.
It is very important to start your young out learning to eat all the grains. Do this the same way as above after they are weaned and eating good on their own for several days.
Good luck and may your kit improve in the air and be a joy to watch.
Feed and condition is the name of the game.

It's kinda like kids, if you let them they will only eat ice cream. It's up to you to make sure they eat what's good for them as the parent.
