Here it's not a question of how many I'd like to fly it's a q? of how many the SOB BOPs will leave me with to fly.Only had 17 left for last years prelims. ---------- Kel. Rum-30 Lofts

yeah, i've noticed theres been more peregrines and sparrow hawks this year, and they arent even breeding yet! they dont seem to bother me so much, but others in the area are getting tortured with them.

I like to fly my kits small. Usually around a dozen birds. I plan to fly the eleven bird fly in 09 and I guess if I fly the 20 bird I will have to fly twenty plus birds in some kits. I fly my Orientals in three to eight bird kits. They will give a better performance that way. I can also tell more about the birds in smaller kits. Every once in a while I will turn out fifty or seventy five at once just to see it. I prefer six to eight but now I will have to conform to the rules of the comp so I may as well fly by those rules with my Birms.

As many good ones as possible :) If you only had 16 good rollers that work extremely well as a team. Numbers means nothing, quality first. No point of flying 20 when 16 does a more effective job. 11, 15-16-17-18-19-20 manager knows best.

I personally like the 20 bird fly but that doesnt mean you have to fly 20 birds. I fly what I have that works best as a team. Adding birds just for sheer numbers will hurt you alot of the time. If you have 17 birds that work well together and you add 3 just to have 20 those 3 could cause alot more than just those 3 to fly through breaks. It is always best to watch the teamwork and let it determine who gets to fly in the competition. JMHO. Thor your post is entirely correct except for the 15 in there. I would not fly 15 birds unless its all I had. With 16 if a bird is out you still score but with 15 if a bird is out all scoring stops due to the 15 bird minimum in a kit. JMHO though. I don't fly in competition but if i had to and i had lets say a few less birds out the team because of BOP or something i would fly smart and that is with a 16 bird minimum because of what Joe stated about a 15 bird one out no score .now if i had 4 good birds in my other team i can pull out to help me make my 20 bird team I wouldn't do it if its a week before comp day because the birds need time to learn to work together the chemistry might not be there with adding these new birds to the team.. Question,Joe what if i have 20 birds and i have two out birds doesn't the scoring stops.I'm confuse cause you said 15 is the minmun to be score. Ralph....

Two birds out scoring stops but there has to be a minimum of 15 in the kit so if you only fly 15 them one bird out puts you below the 15 bird minimum.Joe ---------- J.M.Urbon Lofts A Proven Family of Spinners http://www.freewebs.com/jmurbonlofts/
