Aloha Colin,
That is a very, very, very nice set up. I'll make sure my birds don't see your pics, they might get jealous.

P.S. is that lock big enough????

Typical of some old English Roller lofts and kit boxes. I have tapes from England that show many setups simular. Lot of lofts have been broken into therefore they build accordinally including heavy hasp and locks. Beautifull setup indeed and thank you for posting. Ray Sanchez.

That has to be one of the top lofts setups that has been posted. Very clean, roomy, and pretty exterior...Way to go Colin.

Colinb my new English stock are simular to all the birds shown. I purchased my new stock approximetely ten years ago. My old stock look like the original imports from the early Pensom imports and Ollie Harris stock. I have crossed the old imports and new imports with good results. Plan on taking lot of pictures this year of many different families being bred for fifty years or more. Fancier, Ray Sanchez.

Very impress set up. Reminds me of the Homer lofts I have seen in my area. Looks like a prime example of an English style loft.

Thanks for sharing,
Thor

Hillsida - yes i did build it my self as i thought it would be the cheaper option (i was wrong) it took a couple of month to build.

Sundance - im from Middlesbrough, UK, and i have three, or four strains at the moment.

most of the blacks are form John Wanless, I dont know anybody whos won more all of England or National Flys than him.

Most of the Reds and Mealys are from Duncan McGlocklan's lines.

Most of the blues are out of Charlie Grouts, Lofty Lines

The Spangles and Mottles are from Peter Lynhams lines, He was second in the World cup, a couple of years ago.

The old bird team finished 6th in the All of England fly, last year, finished third, twice, in the Cleveland County. And third in the Middlesbrough & District old bird fly.

Thor - Yes, i raced Homers for 15 years and probably some characteristics where carried over to this loft.

Crobbo - do you recognise the pair in box 2

Thanks for everyones comments.
Col

That excellent loft looks familiar Colin yes i did come to your place last year when George Mason judged your old bird kit in the CCRC fly.
I remember saying what a great looking loft and set up you had. Did you have trouble with thieves at the time of the fly if i remember rightly.

Hi Colin ,

i was over at your home on a fly last year ....... but we never got to meet as you i think were away working ? ...

your birds never flew as the wind was blowing a hoolie !

however i did get to have a look around your lovely set up ..... and i copied a few ideas from your loft to mine .... mainly the lathed ceiling for ventilation , its been a lot of work ,.... but well worth it ....... the rest is set out in john wanlesses style with stock sections at each end and kit boxes in the middle . i did want to do the fronts of the breeding boxes and kit box fronts the same as yours . however ...... " time " beat me and if i was to hatch off a kit or two this year i had to do with mesh , nevermind in the future i will change them when i get my workshop built .......... a lovely set up and nice birds mate !

all the best

lee

Again an excellent set up regarding loft and birds,as I suggested to Lee why not post these pictures on You Tube,it would surely help raise the profile of pigeons and fanciers,if you have got it,why not flaunt it,wishing you all the best Colin
