hey friends,

Every year i always lose young bird, trying to home them in! I give them less feed and keep them on top of the kit box for about 1 to 2 weeks. Then i slowly release them. As they are flying the first week or so, what should i feed them...the mix 15%?...can someone help me???

getiton after you have them home do not feed your birds a day before keep them realy hungry and dont scare them for a couple of days whistle and have a feed shaker so you can get them use to the sound so they can trap quickly i feed my youngsters 15% until they molt and flying a little try to keep your youngters hungry.

Put them on top of the box before they can fly, keep doing this until they start taking short flights on thier own
It sounds like you are putting them out when they are allready strong on the wing.
I can get away with it here due to location and it is hard for them to loose sight of the loft, but if they loose sight of the loft easily you will loose them if they are strong on the wing thier first time out.

Just my Opinion
