Hey Gabe, sounds like you may be using too much powder to water. I have had this happen too. Remember, you are using a product that includes several supplements.
Mixing more than necessary with water and exposing to air might cause it to (for lack of a better word) ferment?? Try using less and see what happens. It worked for me. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

I use 2 teaspoon to a quart of water mix well .i let them have it for two days and put new mix the third day.i use quart because it goes faster with 30 birds..a gallon last longer days I don't like vitamins expose to air that long loses it vitality. ---------- Ralph....

Hey gabe, it is not going to "hurt" the birds at all. But, don't use more than you really need to.
I use 4 to 5 tablespoons to 5 gallons of water. Which suits my birds just fine. The breeders with squabs in the nest drink their portion within a day.
Breeders with no squabs, often have 1/2 to 3/4 of the ProVital water mixture still in the waterer's.
But, I change my birds water everyday. I don't like it when the feather bloom, dust and other matter gets into the water supply and the birds drink it.
Dr Mena has told me that the instructions should be followed as they are labeled for the best results. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Hey Guys, I would not mix more than the birds will drink in a day. If you do mix more than that, I would use amber color jars and refrigerate.
I tried an experiment before using water, probios and some vitamin powder. I mixed it well and let it stand for several days in a amber color glass jar in the loft with the intention of adding it to the water for the birds to drink.
When I opened the bottle, the stuff really smelled nasty! LOL The stuff was fermenting in the bottles and developed a bad odor.
I think the odor is the solution fermenting and being released into the air. If the odor is not to your liking, then I would reduce the amount you add to the water. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Tony is right about that .thats why is best to store the water if it is tap water in a glass jar so the chlorine disappear and when you ready to use it mix it right there .because of the fermenting and smell from being in a plastic bottle, after 60 hours all bottle water will go bad because no ice or chlorine in it the plastic will give out bacteria too. so i mix it fresh every time for them .good stuff... ---------- Ralph....
