Hey I have just completed my loft/kit and am eager to get the birds in there, but first I have to build the small flight pens on the outside to train them and stuff. Anybody have some pictures or plans that they could show me. And what about the roller doors that swing one way too that tony sells, where should I put mine?
Thanks a lot,
Andrew

I put my traps in the door! That way, I don't have to give up perch space! I use the ones Tony sells also! They work great! ---------- Val

Ko I attached a 2x2x2 rabbit cage to the side of my box. I take the young birds out and put em in the cage. I don`t use traps. I have dowel doors and trap my birds euro style. I just open the door and let em jump/flap onto the floor off the pallet that doubles and a door landing. As the birds get bigger they land on the roof or fly straight in.

Hey MGS, whats the measurements on your duplex kit box? Im looking to build two like that, Im limited in space and saw something like that at tippy's (broadwaystars) house and figured I wanted something like that. I like your setup, its clean, the IBP's too. ---------- Gary

I don't use traps. I have a small door 12"x 9" that acts as a landing board that the birds enter the kitbox. The flight cage is made of 2"x 2" welded wire. Mine are 36"w x 24"d x 24"h. But you can make them any size that you see fit.

c robbo I took this photo of the internet so ist not my kit box, I just wanted to show how the trap works. My kit boxes are quite dark also and I find that my kit, kits closer if they are in a dark box. Just my opinion Thys

Kope, If you have alot of hawks around there you may be best using 1/2"X1/2" welded wire(hardware cloth).I had 1"X2" welded wire on my flypens and found Mr. Cooper could grab ahold of my birds legs and he mangled a couple before I realized what was happening and changed it to 1/2"X1/2" wire 2'X2'X20" high. ---------- Kel. Hey Kope, also just thought I'd mention there is a new club out your way in Calgary.I just received an e-mail invite to join them and come to their new show being planned for the fall. It's called Calgary Fancy Pigeon Association.Figure it'll be right up your alley as you like to show your birds. ---------- Kel.
