Fireballer/
Hens are born with a set number of eggs, amount varies from bird to bird, when they are gone thats it,some can be finished at three years old, others can go to 14 years, which incidentally is the oldest I have seen,at 11 year old its not looking too good for her to keep on laying, hope I am wrong, anybody with good producing hens, should make sure any egg laid by them are always hatched.

have thay been bad befor. if thay have had samenella thay can have bad eggs. and stop laying. get old of her and see if she feels light. if i buy a hen bird i feel for a good solid body . if i get one wot feels like an empty crisp packet i dont buy it.fire ball.

Hey Chai, A lot of times, especially in new breeder lofts the fight for nest boxes often occurs when we aren't looking. Make sure that the pair in question have no other pairs trying to take over that box. You'd be surprised how a fight between two pairs in one box can flip an egg or two out on the floor or beside the bowl. Just another angle to consider! Otis
