well i went out to my loft last night and found one of my new birds dead so of corse i went to pick it up and realised it was still warm and it was in a puddle of its own blood so im sitting here thinking what the hell is this well i started looking at the wounds then i threw the bird away but the wound looks like a hole and there was not bullet or pellet in there and there is a thorny bush surounding my loft so im thinking some one came threw the back and shot my bird or some thing tryed to get it threw the wire but i still have not figured out what happened but i noticed a few of my birds had blood on there legs so i cleaned them off and not a scratch on them so so this morning i sat out near my loft with my 306 and waited until around 7 then i went back in threw my window if my parents saw me out there with my gun they would freak so then i got ready for school and i heard the weirdest noise cause my loft is next to my window so i jumped threw my window and there was nothing there but my wire had been pryed apart but not broken so i dont know whats happening so im now on night watch with my gun and flash light watching for things does any one know what it might be cause i may rewire my loft with bigger wire and less then an inch arart

For your info only: It is not a smart idea to mention weapons on this site. This could cause you personal problems with the law and things of this nature is not allowed on this site.
I am not a site moderator but I am sure that one of them will probably block or eleminate your post. Check out the rules and regulations tide to this site and I think you will understand what I mean.

I think he was kidding when he said that (smoking crack) also it is used as a figure of speech in the LA area. I use it many times with my friends and family. example:
My brother thinks his kit is better than mine so I often ask him if he is on crack? lol
Also I found no offence to the name he chose? Small things like this don't offend me but that's just the way I am. I don't think this new guy tried to offend anyone. I don't personally know him but Gabe seems to be a friend of his and Gabe sounds very respectful on this site.

Hey Ben
Your first priority is to protect what you have got,rewire using stronger/smaller mesh,check out all possible entry spots,that any type of predator use,if its a weasel,a half inch will do him,this done,now you sit/watch/wait/you could also use baited traps/poision when you know what problem is.Hope you sort out this problem.

Hey Ben,
What size wire are you using and how big was the hole that was pryed in the wire? If you look very close you can sometimes see some hair left on the wire by the critter. The size of the hole and color of the hair left will sometimes give you a clue as to what went through the hole. Have you seen any racoons around your place?

Living in Idaho, unless he is in a city, bearing arms are common place. I realize a lot of you live in urban areas, but to us in the sticks having and carrying a gun is common place. I have mucho preds besides BOP. BOP are the easiest to deal with I just use my Orientals. Coons, possums, coyotes, weasel, skunk, bobcat, and bear are a little different and require a firearm. I have set watch many nights to get such varmits. It is legal to kill them for predation except bear in the state of Florida. I am sure it is the same in Idaho. I am sure it is considered normal behavior where he is from. We still carry guns in our vehicles in plain site down here. I do have to be careful and remember to remove them or conceal them when going to other large towns. The cops there will throw down on you. I have a concealed weapons permit but it aint worth the hassle in big towns plus some trigger happy rookie might blow me away and look at my permit later. Not a disagreement just that some of us live life a little simplier than city dwellers.

I was born and raise on 66th Between hoover(hoova)and Vermont in South central Losangeles am as hood as it gets did my time even started a club call belizean mafia roller club BMRC so i have been down that street and that road to tell you am embarass to admit it. I also use those phrases am just saying there is a place and time for everthing and if you read his post he is in distress an really need some help with his problem.

I should have added that I have gone to horse panel welded wire for my pens. The coons, possums, and coyotes just tear through the lighter guage wire. Havent lost anything to preds lately in my pens except a hawk getting them through the wire. If it is a weasel you will have to also use a smaller mesh. They dont stay in one place long thankfully. I used to have one come through every spring and slaughter chickens, guineas and young turkeys. He would only eat the heads and kill watonly. I would usually lose a dozen birds and then he would move on.

Well need to buy antibiotics probably has ecoli,salmonela which gets the bird sick tony here on this site has some good stuff 4and1 powder that works good it has everything you need for you bird.

where i live no one really cares if you have aghun or not it is a common practice to ahve a gun i got my first pistol bought for me at the age of 5 by my uncle so its not uncommon to have a gun and the rules are probally the same or just about the same here in idaho as they are in florida and i have 1.5 inch wire now and the pryed wire is about 2 inches i have not seen any thing nor have i seen any wire bent out of place if they would have wanted some thing they would have gone to my birds that are in a tep cage and could easly be taken but not any more the wire on the temp cage i cant even put my pinky threw the wire and im getting some more of that to rewire my loft cause i dont want this to happen and im filling all the hols i can find near or in my yard and i took no offense to the smoking crack thing so dont worrie about it i did not actually see that so its all good
