I hope those Ruby rollers work out for you George. From what I've heard... they come from a strong genepool and are easy to manage.

I also have Ruby's and am very satisfied and I think you will be also. They are your birds and your money but I would breed from them and fly out their young. JMHO

I agree with Old Fart...Breed them and then fly the youngs because you dont want to loose them to BOP or other preditors... ---------- Chai_Seng

I would definitely take Thom's advice in this situation.
===> "Fly out the young".
George, you don't want to lose your investment.

George, You have been getting good advice. As long as the birds are the right type, and Tonys' birds look very consistent and are closely bred, so you should breed a pretty good percentage of respectable birds. You will get a lot more bang for your buck by breeding them. If you fly them you will still need to prove them out in the stock loft anyway. Let them sit and they will mature faster than if you were flying, too. Before the year is over you will be able to breed them. Gomez

Man...DO NOT FLY THOSE BIRDS>>...breed from them and fly out the young....you lose those birds and you are screwed....they have a tight gene pool...you will get some good birds out of them..but DO NOT FLY THEM...

George, I will go against the grain, and say fly them. Remember, culls come from every bloodline.

I remember George mentioning that he can not breed anymore due to health reasons so I think he will be flying them. Also he doesn't have a BOP issue. ---------- Efren Lopez SGVS

thanks guys for the advise BUT I will FLY the Birds , if anything happens to them I can always BUY some more from Tony.
I dont like to breed from Birds that I did not see Fly
It's like ROLLING the DICE you never know , besided unless I can get the DEADEND KID to clean my Loft I dont think I will breed anymore after this season.
I will leave the Breeding to some one else and they can leave the FLYING to me LOL.
Jerry thanks I will take your advise and fly them , Jerry you are right EVERYONE breeds CULLS including ME if someone tells you different they are full of S---- .
I always look for a advantage and by me picking my Breeding stock out of the AIR , I hope thats what sets me apart from the ones that pick from the PERCH when it comes to the SCORESHEETS.

UPDATE....
I let the two young Birds out on Tuesday and one of them disappeared for 2 days .
I had already written her off as a goner , but she came back today.
I was surprised because when I let them out they were hungary so she survived 2 days without food or water.
I dont think I have to worry about her leaving again LOL
the birds are moulting so I will post a pic as soon as they moult out
Thanks Tony

Goerge, Its the baptism of fire when one doesn`t come home. Usually they have the homing thing down when they do make it back after an extended time. Another nice thing is they can lead the other squeaks back becuase of the larger range they have covered. g/l with those rubies

Hey George hows everything I don't know what's going on with your health but hope all is good but if its from bird dust I suggest wire bottom stalls to help. Also George do you still have the bird you asked me about that Keith bred when I judge your area when you where out here?

Bought birds from Tony back in Oct,07.Been out of hobby many years. After alot of research.I decided on Tony as a start.Drove down and met him.Watched his Kit.I must say I am very SATISFIED.Birds are GREAT.Very tight family.Healthy, easy to manage.I have been flying out of an open loft.Only about 2- 3 times a week.Because of family obligations at this time. Can not wait until I have more time this spring and summer to get more involved with my loft. These birds are far and away Superior to the birds I had as a kid.Never thought it could be so easy. They are so consistant.Words cannot describe.I think Tony is on to something Very Good.Plus he is always willing to help out with my questions. The man knows his birds, and is a topnotch breeder. Thanks for all the good knowledge and info Guys it is greatly appreciated Sid

But after reading Tony's book.Concerning the 80-20 rule.I must need to set my standards MUCH MUCH higher.Out of the 20 some odd RUBY's I have,I would consider all but one Damn good birds. They spin tighter than a frogs ass.Kit well.I only put up a handful at a time and the neighbors think they are amazing. They are perfect for were I live. They stay close,do not fly to high, kit well, roll deep enough, and they roll so darn tight.Who knows? I am having a ball with them and I guess that is what matters. If I start taking this to serious. Then it could end up taking the fun out of it.So I think I will keep it simple, and just have a good time with it.I am glad I made the decision to get his birds. They have been a pleasure.Have a Great day Sid
