In individual breeding cages what do you use for water bolw. I have to clean them every day because they get them too dirty very soon. I use the the gallon of Milk when we finish it.

Rolando,
I also use 1 gallon milk jugs for all of my waterers in kitboxes and breeding lofts...When they become frozen, I just replace with new and place the frozen ones in front of the light in the loft, and switch the next day...I have found this to be the most cost effective, easiest, quickest way.

Yeah Tony has them pop bottle founts with springs to hold the bottle onto the individual cages.I use my wifes peach cider bottles cause my rum bottles are too big.Pop bottle size the water lasts about 3 days if you don't have time to change em everyday. They work good you can fasten 'em a few inches from the base of the cage to keep the crap outta the water.

Another tip if using pop bottles is to cut of the thin ring thats left and the waterers snap on good.

I have used gallon milk with holes cut in them since I was a kid! However, last summer, I bought a 5-quart bullet drinker from "T", and it has been great for the breeding loft! I will be getting another for my new loft soon! I also plan on trying the pop bottle founts for my individual breeding cages! They look awful handy being outside the pens, more sanitary too!

Poacher, go to the "Products for sale" at the top of the page. Once you get there scroll down and they are just to the right of the tobacco stems! They are threaded where you can screw a 2-liter pop bottle in them and then you just turn them upside down and stick the bowl through the wire and you wrap the spring around the bottle to keep it in place! They look pretty handy, but I don't know for sure!

Quickspin..........This is what I use for my breeding pens. It's a plastic 64oz. juice container. I cut 2" hole, it hold 16oz of water. I hang it to the outside of the pen, it never gets dirty and last for afew days at a time.

I have used the pop bottle waterers and they work pretty good. You just have to drink plenty of fluids. Our water is so bad I have to throw them away every week or so. The bullet founts are the greatest for keeping things clean. I have to bleach them about every two weeks to keep them clean. Again such great water about the color of piss. My birds get plenty of minerals though, iron, calcium, sulphur and who knows what else. I use two liter bottles in my single mating pens with a hole cut just like the 64 oz. above. I dont use anything larger again because of the water. I have to change it every other day or it grows stuff. We are a little tropical down here.
