I don't know how are we ever going to be ready if we get hit every time we let are birds out. I have not been able to fly my birds with out an attack or a lost. I home my 1 month birds for around 1 week and then I flag them and got hit as soon as they got to the roof. Lost 2 young birds, 2 came with no tail and 1 hit my window. 1 falcon, 2 coopers and the 2 coopers got breakfast.

I will not have a kit ready to fly for April that sucks. I have young birds but not been able to train them due to the BOP. Last year I was flying since January and it was clear of predators. I can't even risk my kit birds from last year to fly. I know if I release them they will be the first ones gone as they have not been flying and condition for a long time.

Thats it I'm getting rid of all of my birds!

Just kidding. I feel you Rolando (by the way thanks for your donation) I held them in since last weeks attack and sure enought about 2 min into flying the cooper showed up. I think I'm going to have to feed the heck out of them so they can leave my #1 team alone. Can't find any other way around them? Maybe I'll get a kit of Spanky's birds for hawk bait...lol you know I'm just messing with you Spanky.

Luis,

I've seen something a bit worse. 5 coopers and 2 falcons almost all diving at the same time. That seemed unreal to me. We had to push back our first fly because no one had anything to fly.

That's crazy Efren!Sometimes i think were just running feeding stations for the bops.I'm not very happy with the situation.I'm close to throwing in the towel if things don't change.

ps:I don't think feeding the bop is your solution!Once again good luck.

Salas Loft,

Try that and adding the -0 temps with on / off snow storms. Haven't had a handle on the feed can for the whole Winter. Any really deep roller or really hot roller have been on the diffinite lock down mode. It sucks big time getting the birds back into shape. Still feeding corn, black sunflower, and all other oily seeds to the fliers. Three times the normal portion and they are still flapping their wings up waiting for more.

Flying them about twice a week. Finally kitting some what and acting more like a team. Saw my first breaks of the year today. Can't wait 'til we break the below freezing temps. Spring shouldn't be too far way.

Put my 3 pairs together...

Can't wait for the first club fly...

Your not alone, no matter how bad it is, it is worst some where else.

Just some thing to think about,

Thor

Oriental rollers are the answer, that is, real flying orientals. Unfortunately there are a lot of unsavory people out there selling cull and imposters. You can even compete with them. I am trying to set up a fly for the third quarter this year. I havent lost one in over two years. Then only to a late day coopers induced overfly of young birds. They will work for anyone except the most enclosed in yards. If they ever get airborne the cant hardly ever be caught. Falcons are another story, I rarely have them around here often. Only flew against one and the jury is still out as to whether they are falcon proof. That falcon was unsuccessful but it was close.
