I received these pigeon whistles in the mail yesterday, and are they cool.Put one on one of my white homers this aft.,and it fell off after about 2 minutes cause I tied it on with a twist tie and that was that.Don't give up easy so went in the shop and grabbed some string and really made sure they were tied on tight this time with 4 birds.Ya tie 'em in between the two middle tail feathers on top like and put the flock up,well what a riot. These birds were just a whistlin' Dixie today, what a gas man they are hand carved and painted every one is different. Not cheap I paid $100 for 14 of 'em but truly worth it.Any one interested in aquiring some shoot me an e-mail and I'll hook ya up with the link.Just such a cool thing and I'm sure they will work with Rollers, thought I'd pass that on.
Cheers,
Kel.

Don't think so really Rafa, pero,,,you can definately here 'em flying around. The gal who I bought 'em from said she had had 2 complaints. One guy said they weren't loud enough but he lived in Manhattan, and another guy said the falcon ate a bird with a whistle on it.I doubt if the BOP choked on it to tell ya the truth.
I live on the main drag going around the island and people always stop to watch the Homers fly especially as they fly low swooping over the road and they are all white ones.Today someone stopped and they could not figure out how the birds were making that sound.I called them over to the gate and showed them one of the whistles.Chinese are brilliant people and these bird whistles show that for sure. Some kind of light strong wood(part of the attaching mechanism is bamboo)and they have 1--2--and 3 holes in em' for different sounds.

Ahh i see yea, Manhattan is too noisy there. I would hear them here country where I'm at. how would it effect the birds rolling ..I can see them on the Homers because they don't roll what you think ..

I don't know if would have a negative affect or not.Didn't seem to affect the hommers flying at all. They are quite light and there is one size I haven't tried yet which is really small compared to the rest.

Ed,
The best photos are there on the website. Not sure if Tony would appreciate me putting up the site on here as I think there is something in the posting policy about posting the names of sites that may pull business away from this site.Go to my profile and shoot me an e-mail and I'll send you the site name.

Kel I email this guy in NJ I ask him does it affect the roll with this on his tail.. his respond>
had no problems with them on my rollers when i had them and no one has complained so far. i can tell you they make a different sound on rollers and divers i guess because of the way they fly some people say they cant tell but i can. right before the rollers roll back.the whistles stop and then tweet, tweet .break up a little the back to a steady sound.

PS,
The damn henery took a swoop at my homers yesterday when they were sitting on the wire and as soon as they got up flying and two had whistles on,the peri buggered off.Soooo,,,,they may work for awhile in discouraging hits.At least till you know who gets used to the sound.

Warning, your neighbours and wife are gonna really think you are nutso when you use these whistles.
