Hey gabe, good question! I would not medicate a bird that was not showing signs of illness. I hear about guys who do, thinking that somehow it helps, but I think it is counterproductive and does nothing! How could it if the bird is not ill?
You will do better to keep your colony healthy by providing a stress free, clean and dry environment along with good feed and quality nutritional supplements such as the ProVital.
I am working on a complete disease chart similar to the one Nick posted a while back. It will link to the medications and products listed on our site.
I also think it is important to invest in a library of pigeon disease books to increase your knowledge and awareness of what kind of ailments your pigeons are up against and how to care for them properly.
If I could only have one product on hand, I would want it to be either the 4in1 or All-In-One product. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Hey gabe, one of mine that I really find useful is: Pigeon Health and Management" by Dr. Colin Walker. Here is some info:
Well-known identity in both avian veterinary circles and the pigeon racing fraternity, Dr. Colin Walker has put pen to paper. The result is a stunning update of modern pigeon veterinary knowledge written in an easy-to-read manner with an accent on real information that any fancier can use. His 20 years of avian veterinary practice, together with his 30 years of experience racing his own team of pigeons with considerable success, place him in a unique situation to provide fanciers world-wide with practical up-to-date veterinary information that they can use to improve their birds" health and racing performance.
Dr. Colin Walker started racing pigeons in 1969 and graduated as a veterinary surgeon in 1979. He operates a bird-only veterinary clinic in Melbourne that not only helps local fanciers also attends to many inquiries from around Australia and overseas daily. He races with the Victorian Homing Association, which has approximately 400 members. Over the last 15 years, he has twice been his Association's champion and twice runner-up and has won a total of 13 open races with up to 10,000 birds competing, with most of his successes being in races of 400 miles or more.
The information presented in "Pigeon Health and Management" comes from both his veterinary knowledge and his experience gained during 30 years of racing his own pigeons. Dr. Walker not only provides a succinct summary of the common diseases but discusses the intricacies of racing including how to develop race fitness, the selection of birds for the race team, race preparation and recovery protocols, disease control during the racing and breeding seasons and also the causes of poor race performance. The interpretation of physical changes observed in the birds, together with changes in the birds" behavior and droppings are discussed from both a management and veterinary point of view. Information on loft design and feeding and extensive coverage of modern medications available to the fancier.
Gabe, I have one on order and should be here in a week or so. Let me know if you want one. Thanks for asking about it! ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria
