Hey, I think c robbo, might be on the money. While you may clean the waterer's, you still need to take care of the gut infection that is probably plaguing the parents and creating disease conditions for the young squabs.
When my birds have an enteritis type condition, is shows itself by either doughy or watery green type droppings. Not the heavy fluid clear type with tubular shape droppings. That is likely something else...
I provide mine with Neomycin 325 powder or liquid and I have found the birds clear up anywhere from 1 to 7 days, depending on the severity of bacterial infection.
After they get this, I give them ProVital which will have all the supplements needed to normalize their gut. Plus it has bio-tags which help the bird slough off the e-coli and salmonella bacteria and keep the gut in proper balance.
This is an anecdotal story. To properly diagnose and treat a disease, you should visit your local avian vet. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria
