I hope the birds aren't in there while your doing it. If the smoke is killing the mites I'd hate to see what it will do to birds lungs and eyes.
When I had Canaries all we ever used was ivermectin. It is used on cattle and was really kind of expensive but it kills all internal and external parasites. And if you don't use it right it kills the birds too. I found out the hard way.

I wouldnot do that !!!!!. your neighbors might smell and see that,and think your pigeons have a serious bug and health problem and blame you for all of the sickness in the neighborhood. And then comes the health department.and once those guys get you in their sights, who knows what's next.In gist, keep it simple.powder your birds and keep your loft clean.just my opinion.JT SMASH.

Well i guess if you are in an area where you can do that and are comfortable with your neighbors, and it works ,go for it.

Hey c robb they are use in pigeon racing loft. My brother- in-law uses it once a month. You put it there will the birds are in there and cover the whole loft. Its like a medication.Ganus sells it.

HI CHRISSY ,
Ive used the bombs before as well as sulphur candles ,,,,,,, but ,,,, you have to be very careful with them especially the sulpher candles which will kill anything ,
a friend gave me a product that he really likes ... its designed for red mite and all you do is put a drop on the walls , the mites are attracted to it and then it kills them ....... though i usually use DURAMITEX , which i find up to the job

Koudijs (Cold Ice)
A smoke bomb (or fogger) used to treat respiratory
problems and also controls parasites in loft. Very
effective! Close up loft, leave the birds in the loft
and light the Koudijs. Use prior to training tosses
or prior to a big race. 1 piece treats 8ft x 12 ft loft

Never tried the smoke bomb approach Chris but its definitely worth a try. Let me know of the outcome if you decide to try them Chris.

I use permetrim 2. spray bottle 3 tsp spray the birds wing n tail.3 days after bath. 6 mths repeat works for me.
