At around 4 weeks, I pull them from the nest and put them on the floor of the loft! There is a 5 sided box on the floor that they always stay in to feel safe! I put the feeder and waterer in front of it so they can watch the adult birds eat and drink! They get about a week to learn, then they go in the young bird training box! I kkep a close eye on them for the first week to make sure they don't go lite on me!
Some breeders will feed their young as long as they still beg! I don't want them to, I want them to get busy and produce another round! ---------- Val

To my short experience I've noticed that the cock will at times feed the young on the floor till about 40 days then he will stop and the young will come out when its feeding time and follow the cock around and will observe the feeding of the adult birds and attempt to eat.
I Wiesel every time when feeding it helps a lot!!

Usually by 40 days old, they are all ready in the kit box and started taking short flights about outside. I move them from the nest to the ground as early as possible. Any where from 21-26 days. They are there for a couple of days just to learn how to fend for themselves. Once I noticed they are readily pecking at the grains and able to consume it with out the parent's help. They hit the kit box.
I suppose if you were to leave them in the stock loft for the rest of their lives, it would be normal for the parents to fend for their kids.

I agree with Thor. I put mine on the floor of the loft or breeding cage when they have about two inches of tail feathers. Usually about three weeks old. When they are eating by themselves usually in a week its off to the kit box for trap training at five weeks it time to fly around a little. At six weeks it flying time.

as for my breeders, they beat the heck out of their kid when they are old enough to eat. everytime the babies tries to get back to the nest, the parent would just knock them down again. My guess is they don't want to deal with them anymore. LoL.
