Could be the lighting or the color reproduction, but this last bird looks indigo. Also, there is one above, with the reds, that looks to be a qualmond. Weird ain't it? lol!

Cliff,
I think 640 was a dun check... a dark, shiny, silky looking one, but he produced birds that threw qualmond... Two of the muffs are qualmond.. I get that color in my family.

How's it going Jose...?
I don't think I have true andalusians... although sometimes I get qualmonds that look like andalusians... with muffs too...

Say Antonio,
So you're just getting back to see him..?? Well, you know that I'd like to have a loft full of him. Wish I could clone pigeons..

Paul, as for myself, I don't care for muffs but I don't put them down.
I like the 640 cock. The fact that he's a red chk helps out a lot. Keep on doing what you do.

Hey Tavo,
Long time no see... Hope everything's OK there in Arizona? How's he BOP situation ? Good to see you're still into the birds.

Hey Keith,
So you're kind ,of partial to the red checks? I couldn't tell from looking at your birds..or maybe I didn't notice..
As for the muffs, they have a down side.. Trying to get bands on them in time. But it's just a project I got started in and I'm having fun with. The spin is still what it is all about and always will be...
Hope your birds are doing good..

Paul I like red chks a lot but I don't breed for them. I have a few in the kit boxes(2008's). You'll see more in the future. My birds are back on track now. I hope they keep it up until this coming weekend when I fly for the world cup, icrc, and csra in one fly.

Fast...
I posted this earlier..
I have made my muffs from the fastest birds in my family.
First, the 119 birds that the original muff gene(s) came from .. a couple of the originals spun blood in their eyes..
from real velocity..
Then I later rebuilt the family adding 2 sons and a daughter of my 591 hen.. one of my best spinners and producers ever.. I saw her shrink in the roll at times..
I haven't flown lately...due to my schedule and BOP problem, but I have used the interlude to make a sizable nucleus.. and I will be able to put them up soon with out fear of losing my project. I do see some of them flip in the cage tho...lol...

Scott,
No I don't think of spinning blood into the eyes as a good thing. The birds I was talking about were back in 1979 or so... I've rebuilt the family since then...as my post said.

Hey Paul, About 8 years ago I flew the futuity kit for the NCRC and a fellow by the name of Yancy put in 2 blue checks that had at least 4 inch feathers all the way down the feet. To be honest they looked awful to me but you know what? They could roll with the best of them. Unrtunately they were both caught by falcons but still the same they could really roll. Yancy put them in because he had been having great success with them and he was right.

Hey Paul, NICE looking muffs bro. Dont let anybody hold u down man that is you lifes work!
Tony Im sorry if I brake any laws with thisone.
This is my OPINION!!
I think we have some bitter man on here that are unhappy. Just because the man has muffs doesnt meas sh*** if they spin. And George let me ask u a question ??? What are u in this hobby for ?? FAME or good times with ur birds and FRIENDS ???
And since u call it "FAULTS" you must have been present in the making of the breed that we call Birmingham Roller today !!!!
So please quit taking all the sh*** to each other and support one anther! CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHAT ALL WENT INTO MAKING THIS BREED? I DOT THINK SO !!!

Norm
before you post you should read all the post , I never said thats Pauls birds were not good spinners , I simply stated my opinion that I did not like the way they looked.

as far as what I am in the Hobby for I will tell; you I like donating my time and Money by organizing fly's so I can see several kits flown in a Day or Two also I have made alot of friends in the Hobby along the way.

I am sure that I have birds that some people would not like the way they looked , But its Ok to me I dont get offended like other people every one is entitled to there Opinion.

any other question Norm ?

and Norm regardless of what you or anyone says I will always believe that any Birds that Roll Blood in the Eye is carrying faults. Norm no need to yell but if you feel like yelling at me call me on my cell phone 702-238-2640
