I recently added a 9 year old hen that would not lay any more eggs to my kit of 41 Birds.

I could not believe that the first time I let her out she went right to the kit and stayed with them like Gum on a shoe.

She is fliping at the moment but I believe she will spin eventually.

She will live out the rest of her days in a kit as I dont think she will ever lay eggs again.

Thanks Russ

She'll lay eggs for sure, but only if she can pick herself a new mate. I have birds like that!

George I thought I was the only person who did things like that I just put three hens in a box to home for the same reason. they are a little older then yours but they are going up in a week or so.

Good luck with her. I hear it's usually hard to get them back in the air let alone kitting.

I agree with you Efren, it's not like when they were young kitters. I used to have some 5 year old breeders who did not even try to fly in the air, they would just sit on the roof and come back home. I see your went right back in the sky and kit. That's pretty awesome. I wish I had a bird like that, so that when I lock-down for a long time, they would just kit back up.

Right on George! It's been several years since the lady got to stretch those wings. I hope she comes back into form and puts a smile on your face. She was a good one for sure.

Washington maybe those Birds were never Flown out .

It is almost impossible to fly 5 year old birds that have never flown.

I could tell this hen has had alot of FREQUENT FLYER miles on Her LOL

True George. The birds I had before never experience flight before so that's probably why. I just cull them all and they weren't breeder so "YES" I ate them.

George, you know what's funny? That dark check self Horner hen I got from you a few years back isn't laying this year either. So I put her in a kitbox yesterday to get her ready for air time. The skies should be pretty safe here in a couple weeks.
