Hi guys i have a question why do rollers are put in single breeding cages shit like dogs.Not only when they have eggs but young also.Do you think they are sick or is thst normal.I took one pair out of the cages and retuned it to the main coop and their shit is normal WHY?

LMAO! Hey spinnerball if the individual breeding cage is too small the birds will hold their sh$@ until they almost pop!

come on lads fly in kit/ live with a kit/ so bread with the kit. If no kit STRESS comes in.

I use open and closed breeding cages. I have also noticed that the birds in the boxes do sh-- like humans. I was like WOW

Because they hold it, one of the reasons I don't want my birds cooped up in individules, even though in my own loft they nest and breed in individuels for the most part, I just don't want them locked down. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

If you use individual breeding pens - try to make them at least 4 feet high so they have to fly up and down between nest box and feed and water. This will induce them to releive themselves properly and not hold their feces. Also, keeping them in small individuals fro motnhs at a time will have a detrimental effect on their lifespan.
I believe the loft design in the old days was the main reason birds lived so much longer. Every loft I saw in pics fro the 40's had very large flight pens and even the breeders got plenty of excercise and sunlight.

My individuals are about 2' by 2',and my birds don't sh.. like cows.I guess they're happy were they're at!

Pigeons are smart. They prefer not to poop where they eat, drink, and sleep. They were never meant to be housed in small little pens for breeding purposes. Watch out that your hens eggs dont get covered with crap. If they have paratyphoid bacteria in there droppings it will get into the egg and kill it.
