It is always best to medicate your breeders before breeding. This will minimize and in most cases will eliminate any health problems during the breeding season to insure not loosing any of your breeders or squeekers. Best to give them 4 N 1 for a week. This will treat and prevent multible health related issues.

I think you want their nests to be as dry as possible.Fresh grass is not the best, neither is straw because it is hollow and mould forms inside the stalks.A little dry sand, some wood shavings(not sawdust),and pine needles is what I like to use. When the squeakers are 2 weeks old I always clean the nestbowls and put fresh bedding in there for the third week. After that they are kitbirds in training,no more nest.Put some garlic in their water for a couple days and then apple cider vinegar.Might help to clean up the green poops. ---------- Kel. I sometimes feed my birds a broodleaf weed that grows in my backyard. They love it, they also like fresh clover! It turns their poop real green! I only do this once every couple of weeks through out the summer! It usually turns right back to normal color the next day or so!
Watch them close though, this is MY situation! If your not sure, med them! ---------- Val

Vals comment: broodleaf weed that grows in my backyard....
Now is that the plant with 5 points?..No wonder your birds are acting lazy with the munchies.
