I did that and lost all of them. Ones you get hit don't fly for almost 1 week because they will stay and if you keep releasing them and him attacking he will not migrate. Free Buffet. ---------- SALAS LOFT

Ty if you feed them they will only get worse. Better to lay low than create a cafeteria. You will run out of culls before the Coop runs out of appetite.

I will recomend that you just wait dont fly cause even if you fly birds you dont care about your still feeding the hawk and by doing that your keeping the hawk in your area.edgar

Time was when the response might have been: "shoot, shovel and shut-up". Times they are a changin'. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Man it really looks like I'm in trouble. Theres hundreds of wild pigeons just a block away from me. Guess I'll never get to fly. There's free food here all year round.

After locking up since Thanksgiving, I thought it might be safe to test the skies. Weekend before last I flew my cock kit. All returned safely. Then I flew the hen kit. After half were in, a coopers attacked. They all flew off, and four never returned.
One week later, I tried again. I flew my cock kit. All returned safely. Then I flew the hen kit. After about half were in, a coopers attacked. They all flew off, and again, four never returned.
So in both these cases, had I been using a decoy cull kit first, it would not have helped. Perhaps I should have flown it second.
Its hard to get ready for a fly by continuing to lock the birds in and hoping that the coopers moves on, but I have no other alternative. Losing four birds a week is faster than I can breed them. I just hope its not a resident BOP, and I sure don't want to encourage it to become one.

Hey Arlen, sorry you lost so many birds...
I think you may have your solution in your description of your problem. You say its the second kit that suffers the losses.
You might consider that the first kit is attracting the bop to the area and sizing up the scene. The first kit traps in before the bop has a chance to setup for an attack, now when the second team is released, it is easy pickings.
If you agree with this line of thinking, then your solution may be just to fly the teams on separate days. Or perhaps wait an hour or so and try the second team only after the bop has had significant time to move on.
As I think about it now, on those days that the bop is in my area, the first team has no problems whatsoever, but its the second team that is having their training interrupted (no losses up to now).
I may have to do the very thing I am suggesting that you do...Good luck! ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

You right Tony ,I was letting out my first team that haven't began to roll yet thinking hell if i lost one its not like losing one that is rolling already in my other team .but sure enough once i let the second team out they get hit.the first team might have attracted them and went in before getting hit..so its no telling when you gonna get hit ,my best bet now its hawking the area myself and playing with different time of the day or different days altogether.. ---------- Ralph....
