Hey RXR, I have had three hens at separate times in different years that were not good at all. They would have a fit to when they got excited and actually roll down in the loft or just straight rock back on their butt/tail and their head would kick back to their tail and just wobble like they were drunk(as if they were in a roll). I wound up removing those birds for fear of sickness/ mental instability/ retarded. Freaked me out every time I saw it. They came out of a hot cock and good hen. They weren't breeders, just locked down for a while. They rolled great when I locked them down and they had a great type. I got rid of the cock, hen, and everything from them to be sure nothing like that was in my loft. Not saying that's what it is, but just an idea. Very unusual a pigeon would drown.

Velo, Been on Parris Island for three years doing the Drill Instructor thing. The better I got the less time I had and the more responsibilty they loaded on me. I am done sir done, time served. I managed to keep a few good birds and I have some in the air right now. Hawks got a few and but every other bird I put up has come back/trapped so far so good. They're everywhere though :) You know the gettin' in the air blues I'm sure. Yeah, not much fly time for about year and a half. Found myself feeding the birds in the dark many a night, but I'm lookin' up again and never stopped dreaming of the ultimate roll. Appreciate you remembering my name, that's the good will I dig about pigeon people!

Good on her and congrats to you. Be fore warned, she is either going to really like it or really hate it when she first gets there. Usually though the ones who make it to the end, like it or not, always come out standing tall. The female DI's really have their act together over their in the female side. Make no mistake about it, those female recruits and DI's are hard core. They do everything, and I mean everything males do! They are all about it. Can't say I'll be there as of April 1st as I am going to back to the Airsation where I originally came from. But I live right down the street and if you have any extenuating issues, let me know and we can talk on a side bar. I would also recommend this, write alot and do not go soft on her. Tell you love her and no matter what, don't quit. Recruits start doubting their decisions and themselves and start doing the "Get me out of here I'm dieing thing" when in all actuality they are WELL fed(even though they always feel like they are starving, sleep at a minimum of 8 hrs a night, yet are always tired, and we have awseome Medical and dental, even though they think they are dieing when they have a cold :) I will tell you this on a positive note, you gotta work really hard at quitting to not graduate bar an injury. Aside from the hype, the USMC motivates/mentors and there are roughly 400 DI's male and female trying to make kids succesful at what they started, not quitters. It gets pretty dramatic! But good on every one of them. Believe me when I tell you, we see it every day and we can spot a recruit male or female that is really having trouble or an issue and we take care of them down to the minute to keep them moving forward to graduation day. Stay motivated and positive, good on you again. P.s. It is a small world!!

I have a good friend who has had the same problem. Sorry for the lost. If it makes you feel any better, I lost 3 out of my old bird team and 2 from my yearlings in the past two weeks to a perry and his huge mate.
Time to lock up, Thor ---------- It's all about the friends we make :)
