What do you guys do with your old breeders when they no longer produce young? do you cull them?

Some do, some let them live out the rest of the old days.

Put my foundation hen down, but no eggs, I think she’s done she was a 96 bird. Don’t have the heart to cull her.

They become my trophies. Don't you guys think it'll be nice to have your best bird hanging on your wall just like every other game animal.

elopez, I would fly it/them too, but due to the quality of its flight, the BOP would just catch it's early meal.

I guess it would depend on the conditions of the old breeder, but I would try to fly it in safe conditions.

If the cock or hen had a lot to do with making your loft what it is today. I would allow him or her to live out the rest of it's life in the loft. And if the bird is ten years or more use for the ten year old classes at lawn shows.

I have a foundation cock that was born in 1991 still hitting and I take him to shows that have a ten year or older class.

He will die in my loft.

If it was a bird that made an impact on your loft and was in your stock loft for many years, then I would personally let it live out its years in your loft.
