I'm all done flying today. Cleaned the pens... fed the pinkies and locked'em down!
Like you Efren, I too am flying young birds. Some are just beginning their very 1st moult. I threw one white self squeaker into the kitbox yesterday. An 11 bird kit is where we are at right now. I will have some more youngins to put into the kit box next week.
I'm slightly impressed with the extremly hard work that I put in with my family of rolling pigeons over the past couple of years. Things are starting to look quite promising. I say that because I'm getting a smooth 10ft spin out of one of my Plona+514 crossses in which I have high hopes for. It's a young hen off some magnificently marvelous stuff. Her mother is the chit! I'm talking about a 30 footer that will make your jawbone drop and eyeballs pop out!
{P.S.} Debating on whether or not I want to go to Home Depot or not. It's 3:56 p.m. (PST) and I need to start cooking some dinner for my wife before she gets off work.

yeah, not a good fly. My young team is kitting much better. I added my two birds that bumped last week. One is back in action the other seemed to be okay but while landing pulled back and ... hopefully he'll be cool for tomorrow. I did see which bird was acting up so I'll pull him and add another youngster.

I had a rough day too. A young tortoise shell cock disappeared behind some trees in a neighbors back yard after a 20ft tuck-n-roll about 45 minutes ago. I haven't seen him since. All the rest of the kit came in, trapped, were feed... and are currently locked down.
I really hate this chit! When you get a bird that you have really high hopes for and it pulls a freakin stunt like this... it just mentally screws up your master plan.
Guess what Efren.... the torts father did the same thing at another property about a year ago. Disappeared right across the street behind a neighbors back yard and later popped up and the end of the day.

147.39 was my score with 1.7 for Quality and 1.7 for Depth.

Good afternoon Efren...
I'm thinking about letting them out say around 6:00 p.m. (PST) so they can rip the sky up. Still undecided though.
A few of my birds that have already finished up their 1st molt are starting to drop out the kit like yo-yo's.
I don't even know which birds are choppin it up because I have like 7 or 8 Bluecheck-Wht/flights in the kit and they all look the same to me up there.
Hmm... maybe I should should get some of that special paint to mark the birds feathers.... or maybe just buy myself a decent pair of binoculars.
Any ideas on what to do here?

No losses in quite some time. Just lost one young one due to the wind but aside from that no BOP (knocking on wood)

Good morning Efren and Quickspin...
I been up since 4:00 a.m. (PST) messing around out back with the birds.
About 10 minutes ago I was headed back inside and noticed a barn owl flying roughly 25ft overhead. They are okay as long as you don't have pigeons that stay out all night.

Good morning Efren....
Are you flying any kit birds today?
It's about 5:46 a.m. (PST) and I'm headed out front to the lawn where I will turn on the water sprinklers. Afterwards I will creep around to the back yard and fly some holdover cocks.
Oh boy!
Today is going to be a big day for me Efren. I live next door to a pre-school/day-care home and after 4:00 p.m. the parents will be coming there to pick up their youngins.
...well anyway
I promised everyone that I will fly my birds (young hens) for them at that time. I know it's not the W/C fly or a competitive club fly.... but it's stilll a real big deal to me. I take pride in everything positive that I do.
Personally I am quite proud of my accomplishments over the past 4 years after being back in the game with performing roller pigeons.
{P.S.} I am not quite ready to PUT-UP or SHUT-UP!

Hey Marcus,
Sounds like fun. I always like showing people who don't know a thing about rollers what these birds can do in the air. By the way it does sound like a big thing to me too, as it's not just for a friend or two but for a crowed. Good luck, I'm sure you'll put up a good show.
I'm on my way to let my birds up now.

I been out all day looking at Real Estate Foreclosures and Distressed Properties.
...and
No... I didn't fly any rolling pigeons on Tuesday, June 17th.
NOTE: I try to visit and spend time with my birds at least on 3 seperate occassions within a 24 hour period.

I'm all done flying today.
Whew doggie.... big grass fire about 2.5 miles away from my house.
Three telephone poles collapsed and set off a hewmungus fire along California Highway Route {12} not far from Jelly Belly candy factory and Wal-Mart.
Hmm....
Very smoky and cloudy outside. The sunset is blocked out.

Yes sir. We have a fly on Sunday so got to look at them to see if any changes need to be made... but the cooper just chased them into the clouds so looks like I'll fly them tomorrow...

Hmmm.... let's see here.
In regards to the Cooper problem you spoke of, I've noticed that several species of BOP have become rather aggressive due to all of the fires in California which unfortunately displaced their natural prey from their rural terrain (habitats).... thus pushing them towards suburban regions across the state where there's less smoke.
NOTE: It's extremely bad air quality around certain parts of the central-coast Big Sur (Carmel-Monterey area) due to the fire there.

Hey Marcus,
Didn't do so well in my fly. Had two bird roll down as soon they came out of the box, One killed it self and the other went up, called time in then the one that was hurt rolled then landed. That was my two birds down so I had to take the DQ.... Still holding second though, just the first place spot is getting a bit further away.
I'll get my team right for the next fly this weekend.
I am planing to fly bright and early tomorrow.
