The owls need to wash there feathers so they can be ready at night. The feathers with dust and powder will shine at night and they will not be a suprice to theire pray. They have short wings but wide compare to the other pray thin and long. There wings are made to be as a surprice pray not as a fast pray like a Hawk or Falcon. They have to be alert during the day because the day is for prays much bigger and faster than the owl. The Hawk measuring more than 1 1/2 meeter of leght is one of the worst predators of the owl. The hawks are always looking for owls as there pray. Not every Owl has bad orientation during the day like this one.

This is close to the you tube video. Some words might of been missing.

Something at the end of the video didn't look right. It almost looks like there was some sort of string or wire attached to the owls leg.

That was some kind of little owl... like a Screech Owl or something like that. A Great Horned Owl would have the hawk for dinner and the little owl for dessert..

The Great Horned Owl is much bigger. Don't think the hawk would have been the one eating after their fight.

I know that ain't no Great Horn Owl. Just make sure you attract the right size owl or your neighborhood BOP might just stay around a little longer if some little owl like that lives around you. That little owl is no match for a hawk that size. I did see a string-like object and it could have been a string or something else.
