I HAVE THIS HEN THAT IVE BEEN TRYING TO BREED SHE MATED I GAVE HER FERTILE PILLS OYSTER SHELLS I DE-WORMED HER OHKAY SHE LAID TODAY AND THE EGGS WHERE TO SMALL MY FRIEND GAVE ME THE BIRD AND SAID IT HAD DONE THE SAME FOR HIM I GUESS HER EGGS CYCLE IS TOO SHORT BUT HOW CAN I FIX THIS

Dam homie I wish I could help you with your problem I never really had this hapen to me but once but keep trying maybe use her as a foster once then see if that helps her how old is she and has your friend ever get some babys off of her?edgar.

shes a 04 i think man she got some really good blood in her man he said that he got some bigger eggs from her but he never got babies because the cock kept breaking the eggs

GIVE HER A LIQUID CALCIUM SUPPLEMENT.I THINK THAT'S THE PROBLEM,IT'S HAPPENED TO ME AND THIS HAS CORRECTED THE PROBLEM.TONY SELLS THIS PRODUCT AND IT'S CHEAP.

i dont know man what to do with this hen i fosterd her first round hopping the second would be different but nope the eggs where small still man i seen veins inside of them hopefully they are fertile .........may TONY COULD HELP ME

you can also give her some tums they are filled with calcim
break up the pills into to 4 parts and give her one piece a day until she lays it works real good is an old trick i learned from a guy thats had birds for 30+ years

Nick,
I used the liquid calcium, the one Tony sells. I use a syringe and give the hen 3-4 drops per day until she lays.
Here is what Tony has it as:
Calcium Gluconate 23% Solution 500ml

cool thanks e hey i checked the eggs today and they look kind of solind in the inside and one side was clear so i checked the other round she layed and i seen veins so what do you think e

Give them around 5 day and put them up to the sun or a bright light and you should see some veins that will show and that’s when the egg is fertile. If you don't see anything but the yolk by the fifth day the eggs are not fertile.

When the hen is a carrier of salmonella or has it, it will cause the eggs not to be fertile or too small. Does the hen have sometimes wing node and she can not fly to the perch for couple of days around the breeding season? If so, treat them all with Amoxillian for 10 days.

It`s one if the hazards of breeding birds Nicky my boy. Where do you think the old saying "dont count your chickens before they hatch" came from. I had a pair of fosters get off the eggs two days before hatch. I know,or thought I did, they were with in an acceptable margin of time when I switched the eggs. In fact I think they were even right on time as in the same day even.
