I copied and pasted this from the NPRA website for informational purposes...Publisher
======
"GOLD CERTIFICATE
Birds will be scored on a scale of 1 to 10 points in the following areas. 10 is the ideal in each area.
Velocity: 1 - 10 points Control: 1 - 10 points Style: 1 - 10 points
When judging is complete, the totals on each area will be added and a score. Birds much earn a minimum of 25 out of 30 possible points to be certified.
This certificate is designed for deeper birds that are able to exhibit a high quality performance in the air. Birds absolutely MUST meet the minimum 25 out of 30 points in order to be scored any further.
If the bird or birds meet the minimum 25 out of 30 points, the bird that is being considered for certification will earn an additional 5 points per 10 feet rolled above the 10 foot minimum. Here are some examples:
40 feet = 15 points 50 feet = 20 points 60 feet = 25 points and so on.....
This depth score will be added to the score from the top 3 areas and a total score will be recorded. Birds that earn a minimum of 45 points will receive a gold certificate."
=======
The is for the NPRA Club...This will give you the INFO you wanted..I believe it takes 3 Judges.

I went to the website and read the information. After analyzing the data, I have come to the conclusion that I would love the HONOR of earning a GOLD CERTIFICATE from judges that certify spinners.

A certification is only as good as the judge's ability to recognize quality.
With all the disagreement especially by those supposed to be in the know over what constitutes the basic qualities of a performing bird over what should and should not be judged, tell me why should anyone trust anyone else's opinion about their own birds?
Be cause of the subjectivity of the matter, I am still left with too much doubt to trust anyone to tell me I have a good bird or not.
That's not to say there are not those qualified, but until they are the only ones doing the judging, I have to wonder about "3 Men And A Pigeon". ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

I have no certified spinners. I have had birds in the past that judges have offered to certify but I declined.
I am as good a judge as anyone on the quality of spinners I am flying. I never saw the value in the certified spinner program because every one I've seen allows guys to certify spinners that really don't know what one is.
It is more important to me to fly a bird that makes guys go - yeah, that is a very good bird, than it is to have paper certificates.

Not many around here give it a thought either, most don't need a piece of paper telling them it is a good one.

This was bred my friend Jay Moreno, he is out of roller at this time. He gave me the father for this one and a bird from the 1220 line from Bob Scott. This two were the best in his loft.
He will be back in to rollers soon.

Scott, Ken F.,
Question, why not? I like any program that will gather true rollermen to ones back yard. Even if it is to (or try to)certify a certain individual spinner. Heck, I'm shooting for a couple this year myself. I don't recall ever seeing any thing certify since I've join my club. Sad but true. I guess being active means you have to start heating things back up - if that means bring back the certification program. So be it.
Hell, if you are able to fly a 3 plus year old bird and that bird still holds ultimate spins... why not recognize it? We need more birds of this likes for the new guy to see. I am very proud to be flying a few birds I consider outstanding old birds.
I'm all for it,
Thor

Ken,
There lies our problem. It is very RARE now a days to visit a flier and truly see an outstanding spinner with age. We need more of these birds in the air for us new guys to see to keep our head's screwed in the right direction.
I recall one summer when our local club had their August get together. Our current President graciously hosted the event. He had 4 in that lot that were just superb spinners. First real time I had ever witness some one actually flying birds that matched the description of THE TRUE BIRMINGHAM ROLLER.
