Well, after a lock down that started in mid-October, there were rollers in the air over the Szabatura loft this morning. Kicked all 30 holdover birds out, they kitted surprisingly well except for 3 of the deeper birds, at least half of them did some rolling, had a Coopers fly through at 5 minutes in, but she kept on going, they landed at a little over 10 minutes, and all 30 are safe and sound in the loft. Couldn't have asked for better first time out. I even put a stock hen, that hadn't flown in 2 years, back in the kit and she ripped off a couple nice ones. It feels great to have them flying again after a long winter! Spring is in the air, and a young man's fancy turns to his rollers. I think that saying is suppose to be "turns to love", but I can get that all during the cold winter, come on, I haven't see the rollers in the air in 6 months! LOL.

Hey Dave, what a great feeling to get them back up after such a long lock down! :-)
3 weeks ago, when I first released mine after a 6 month lock down, they swirled about for a few days, but started bringing it together, try to get them ready for a local competition now.
Best of luck this year! ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

YEAH!!!!!Been flying them off and on since February and was getting massacerd by the damn henery and birds would keep going up outta sight, but the last week the BOP must be eating something tastier as my birds are rolling like I've never seen 'em roll before.Kitting like glue too!Even my late hatch 07 birds are some of 'em ripping it off. What a pleasure to fly them with NO,and I'm serious NO ATTACKS.This is what I'm in it for.It is like putting up with the cold, snow, rain and dark clouds all winter and then finally the sun comes out and what a difference.yaHOOOOOOOOO!! ---------- Kel. Good job, guys. I don't know how you do it, Dave, locking down up north for so long. Sounds like a good weekend was had by all, though. It was overcast and rainy, here, but I like to fly in a light drizzle, and was able to fly between showers. I had pulled five or six birds from my A-kit to breed and when I replaced them with my best 07 birds, the kit dynamics were all screwed up and they were flying in tight circles and water-falling during much of March. But Saturday the kit finally came together with the slow flying and wing beat that we like, with lots of big breaks. Speed and quality are finally coming up to par, as well, after a month of regular flying and kit rations. As an added bonus I saw my first 10 -foot spins from a few of my 08 birds! Now that's exciting!
